The first is 23" square. Too bland to leave - too big for a mini - too small for a kid's quilt.

The second one would make a great center panel (23" x 33") but what fabric to add? I have a bit of the green left. (The closeup is a better color representation than the larger pic). Once this is finished and quilted, the center pieces get pulled back into flower petals for a 3-D effect.

Madquilter, I made 2 of these, and put multi colored border on it, matching the flowers, it really turned out quite nice.. here is a picture.

The folded flowers would be beautiful as a wall hanging or table topper, just the size that it is now. The 3-D effect is stunning.

Here is a folded flower quilt I quilted for a client. She used her folded flowers for the centers of log cabin blocks, and stitched a pearl in the middle. It made a beautiful couch quilt for her daughter's wedding.

That turned out beautiful. The pearls add just the right touch.

On the first on what if you pulled some different colors from the flower fabric and put some borders on it. Then applique leaves, flowers, fall theme and use as a table topper or hanging.
The second on is batiks? If that's the case I would buy some more batiks and continue on. Maybe changing the color and do a couple of rows all the way around your center and then another color... Until it's to the size you want it.

The first one is similar to a Fons & Porter quilt they showed on their program recently. They put triangles on all 4 corners & then appliqued a flower in each triangle. It was a very pretty quilt.

As always, you come through for a fellow member in creative limbo. What fabulous suggestions. Now I just have to pick one. Hm, setting something on point. That's a totally new one for me........pondering.......

That Flower looks fantastic, cool design!! even not open, very interesting, might put in a Frame (picture) to solve the dust thing. On point and a boarder for the first one would get it to a Baby size. Good Luck sure you'll work it out!! :)

OK - gotta ask - did you finish these? Want to see pics.

Are there directions for folded flowers? (of course there are) I guess I should have asked if this is a free pattern or is it something I need to buy a book to learn. I really like the look.
