Totally beautiful, a real eye-catcher. You've done a fantastic job.

Ada Shiela 08-06-2010 03:20 PM

Ninnie your quilt is beautiful, have watched progress thus far but didn't expect sashings to make such a difference, absolutely beautiful and I echo all the comments made on your journey through this - it's hard to think of something different to say, but the casual approach to sorting fabrics was inspirational - thank you for sharing it. I too have spells of wanting to keep sewing, like the Pam Bono's Flying Home quilt I did, the flying geese triangles were great for that and string piecing log cabins.

Thank you, so glad you like it.
the setting squares are one inch. and the hst are 2 in. There are 116 pieces in each of the blocks.

I think the main thing is the corner hst that are different. And most Carpenters are not made from scraps, but from light and dark co-ordinating materials. If you go to the links, you can see the difference.

Absolutely gorgeous !!! You did a great job. I think I have lots of scraps but, not really. When I make a scrappy, I usually cut off of some of my smaller yardage pieces. I've made 8 quilts since Jan. and hope to make a bunch more, that should give me lots more scraps.

kacy 49 08-07-2010 04:49 PM

WOW it is beautiful. You did a great job. I am saving all my scraps now and in the near future I want to make a scrappy quilt. I just love your pattern.
