I really like your quilt. Am anxious to make one also

JCL in FL 08-07-2010 10:16 PM

I had seen your first posting and loved the random way you were putting them together but Oh My I had no idea it would look so gorgeous. Love it. Your sashing really ties the blocks together and you changes the corners into HST, that looks great. Another for my TODO list. I have to live to 105 to make a dent in it. Great quilt, an inspiration.

Hi this is not a Carpenters Wheel, it is a buggy wheel.
Here is the link where you can see it all come together, and the information is in there. It is from a book called Quilt Lovers Favorites, vol. 10
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-50718-1.htm

Oh, I see the difference it has a HST in the corners of each block where as the carpenter's wheel has a solid block.

Oh, I see the difference it has a HST in the corners of each block where as the carpenter's wheel has a solid block, and the use of more than 3 colors.

AkAngel 08-08-2010 10:13 PM

Wow, I love your scrappy carpenters wheel. This is the block I used for the center in the RR I did here on the board it was fun to make. What size did you make your blocks?
Muriel

AkAngel 08-08-2010 10:19 PM

I want to correct myself here, I see that yours is not the carpenters wheel but "buggy wheel" block, I still love it, what a great scrappy quilt.

they do look a lot alike. and are often taken to be the same thing.

What a quilt. It is so colorful, simple, yet intricate. A lot of time on your part. Whether you give or keep, it is definitely a treasure. :-D
