If he's anything like my DH, he won't use it! He keeps it in the bag I made for it & takes it everywhere to show it off! But he won't keep warm with it! So, I'm making him another one that I hope he will use when he 'snoozes' on the couch! Yours is Beautiful!!! Great work!

This one was made 'just because' I like blue & I had lots of it in my stash!

He wants me to get it finished so he can drag it around to show it off and send e mail pics to his family. I think he might like it ...LOL! He requested that I put blue cornerstones on the last border, which I did. I just can't believe a guy would take such an interest in a quilt. LOL! Thanks so much for the sweet comment, hon.

And a big thanks you to the rest of you girls that have posted too.

Many objects on the quilt symbolized Navy items. I had no idea what I was doing but he loved it!

Huband's surprise us sometimes, Huh?
By the way that is a very nice quilt you made for your hubby. Thanks for showing it. And welcome to the board. :-)

Thanks ever so much for the sweet comments on my hubby's quilt girls. I found this fabric in a second hand store while making a donation recently. Dodie saw it and told me the fabric is twelve years old or something like that. And ... That she had a pattern for it that she used to teach. She graciously sent it to me. Which I changed because I wanted the heads to show more, the arrows to be on the top and bottom, as well as the sides and I found the grey background fabric at my lqs, windy moon.

There is a new series of this wild life fabric out on the market now. I saw it at Ben Franklins.

This was what the original pattern looked like....

Dodies pattern.

your changes make a huge difference in the overall feeling of the finished top. i don't know if this was your intent, but it has a more american indian look to it now. and you're right: the grey is just right.

you've put a lot of thought and work in this top. are you really sure you like him enough to give it to him?

kd124 09-15-2009 11:39 AM

Awesome quilt. I love the changes you made.
