My hubby made me a table with left over plywood and wall paneling and sat my machine flush as well...works great and my fabric slides very nicely..I can't afford any of the fancier table/cabinets either...Thanks for sharing...oh by the way did you make your sewing machine covers??

Great idea, I sew on a table from a garage sale 2X3 so I appreciate your advice. Did you use a router for your cut out?
What kind on material did you use for your box - how did you build it.
Thank you. Don't think for a minute we aren't interested, we use anything for our sewing spaces or to make storage space for fabric.

Welcome to the board, you did a great job!! There is nothing wrong with upcycling. I had my husband do the same thing for me with my old office desk and it turned out to be the perfect and best economic solution. I am going to paint mine this spring, as soon as I can open the windows. The desk has a laminate, formica type finish and is scratched so I want to smooth it and make her look purdy. I plan to use an oil based outdoor or marine gloss. Happy sewing!!
