Humptey Dumptey Sat on a wall
1 Attachment(s)
My DH's 96 year old Aunt made this little quilt and asked me to quilt it for her. She is a special lady that keeps on going. She makes fried pies and sells them at the local farmer's market every week.(approx) 150 each week. She is giving it to someone as a gift.

Adorable and it will surely be treasured. Wish I had a fried pie! That lady sounds fantastic. Bless her and thanks for sharing her sweet quilt.
How sweet! She is going to make some little person very happy. Your DH's Aunt is definitely a treasure.

I love to hear of the older generation still being able to do what they love to do. Great quilt. What is a fried pie?

Great quilt! I am a fan of all things Alice. :)

Humpty is adorable. It's great that aunt is still able to do such nice. I hope I'll be half as goond when I'm her age.
Holy Cow ! I have 2 aunts in their 90's and both quite active - but not THAT active ! Enjoy her every day !
Love the cute little guy! I just love hearing of women that are able to do so much in their old age. It holds out promise for me.
p. s. Wish i could taste those pies! |
That's so cute! Hope I will be as active at that age.
What a sweet quilt.
Way to go Aunt. Age is just a number. Attitude is everything. Love the quilt and that cloud fabric - perfect.
great quilt and what a hard worker at her age. i only hope that life goes that well for me :) . we have a 99yo member in our senior quilters group who drives there every week, and she lives alone on her farm. i really admire folks like that.
darling!!!
What a cute quilt! I especially like the fabric used for Humpty's suit.
What a great looking quilt.
Gail B - A fried pie is fruit! And an excellent way to fool your body into thinking it's healthy, and it's deep fried, so therefore delicious. But as we all know, delicious = not good for you :(

The quilt is so adorable! She really does nice work. That is fantastic that she can still do some of the things she loves. I have never had a fried pie. Is it a little single serve type pie? Sounds good to me!
That is so cute!! Yummo! fried pies.
Absolutely adorable! You did a good job, and your aunt sounds like a really remarkable woman. Kudos to both of you.
Too cute!!!!
at 96! Amazing, she sounds like a very special lady!
Sweet little quilt and a nice job. She is one lucky lady to be 96 and able to do all she does.
What a darling quilt. A fried pie sure sounds good about now. It's amazing when someone that age still can do all those things. Bless her!!!!
That is adorable
Absolutely adorable!
I am feeling so ashamed. Have been feeling so old and wondering how long I can go on doing everything myself. I am 83. See why I am ashamed now? Must adjust attitude.

A fried pie is made with a special crust that you roll out into a circle. You put pie filling of any kind in it and fold over and crimp with your fingers. Then, you fry in a skillet with about 1/4 to 1/2 inch or cooking oil. They are wonderful!
Very cute baby quilt.
