Beautiful colors, beautiful quilt!

elly66 03-10-2015 05:20 AM

Beautiful quilt and the stitching is wonderful. I'm sure the kids will be excited to present Dad with his quilt. Good job.

thimblebug6000 03-10-2015 07:57 AM

A beautiful quilt, your quilting is wonderful.

Girlfriend 03-10-2015 07:58 AM

It is very obvious you are the much bigger person, and your kids will take notice in a very big way. You are teaching them something wonderful.

Your quilt is beautiful, by the way.

Love the colors. Did you use random stash, or a layer cake?

debcavan 03-10-2015 08:06 AM

Wow, it is turning out so pretty. Feathers are my favorite thing on quilts.

notmorecraft 03-10-2015 08:10 AM

What a nice gift and a beautiful quilt.

RedGarnet222 03-10-2015 08:18 AM

Gosh this is a pretty quilt! You did a fabulous job on the colors and the quilting. You are one sweet woman to do this for your Ex.

pjnesler 03-10-2015 06:03 PM

Hey "Girlfriend" - Thanks for checking out the quilt, I used from stash, I've never purchased any layercakes, back when I got back into quilting about 10 years ago, we had a "Mill End Textiles" store here in town, I'd purchase my favorite colors knowing I'd find use for them someday - I'm so glad I did! Their yard of fabric was always much more than a yard today!

That is a beautiful quilt! And what a good person you are to make the quilt for your ex. As someone else already said, it's as much for the children as it is for him. Thank you for sharing with us!

sherian 03-10-2015 06:48 PM

Looks great! Looks like a lot of work and & a wonderful finish.

Your quilt is very pretty, you are very generous and your children are very fortunate that their parents have remained friends - which is best for them. My ex-husband, however, is OUT OF LUCK!!!! :)

Taughtby Grandma 03-11-2015 02:30 AM

Very pretty quilt. I'm sure he will notice it right away!

nwm50 03-11-2015 02:40 AM

Beautiful quilt...love the colors as well. I'm sure he will be cherishing this eternity!

twinkie 03-11-2015 02:50 AM

Beautiful quilt and quilting.

jmoore 03-11-2015 03:10 AM

Your quilt is beautiful as is your FMQ... I'm sure the dad will be delighted in your gift and appreciates your talent. You are very thoughtful.

Texas_Sue 03-11-2015 03:33 AM

Wonderful job. Your quilting and pattern are just awesome!

nunnyJo 03-11-2015 03:59 AM

great quilt, beautiful quilting

callen 03-11-2015 04:16 AM

Beautiful quilt & I'm sure he is going to be "blown away". The nicer part is that you & your ex are friends & can be civil
to each other. We all hear the horror stories about bitter break ups & how they affect the children. Kudos to you. You 2 must have a special bond.

JoyjoyMarie 03-11-2015 04:39 AM

Wonderful quilt - love the pattern, the colors, and the quilting -all! What a nice gift to the father of your children.

Ariannaquilts 03-11-2015 05:12 AM

Your quilt is beautiful and the quilting is great you definitely have these feathers down. I am friends with my ex which is kinda weird since we have no children together but I think we need to move on to forgiveness especially when he treats my children as his own, just like others have said they didn't get a divorce we did.

coffeegirl 03-11-2015 05:16 AM

That is just beautiful, great job!

tessagin 03-11-2015 05:24 AM

Love the Hunter's Star! It's more about the kids.

feline fanatic 03-11-2015 05:25 AM

Beautiful HS quilt and you did a really great job on the quilting too. I love all the blues in this with the white stars.

littlebitoheaven 03-11-2015 05:42 AM

This is what "loving your children more than you hate your ex husband" is all about. (Quote from Oprah Winfrey) I really love this and applaud your love and kindness towards your children's love for their father. You are an exceptional person. God bless.

mrs. fitz 03-11-2015 06:02 AM

The quilt is absolutely beautiful. It sounds like you have a "good divorce". My husband has one of those and you know who wins? Everybody!!! His ex made us a beautiful crewel work wallhanging when we were married 38 years ago. It was appreciated by both of us, as your quilt will be by your ex-husband.

lbc 03-11-2015 07:50 AM

What a nice person you are. Beautiful quilt.

Good for you and your family - nothing like an example - always remembered more than words. Plus it's a great quilt!

letawellman 03-11-2015 08:18 AM

Regardless of the fact that the two of you are no longer together, you will always have the kids in common. Doing this shows your children that FAMILY is more important than conflicts.
And you did a wonderful job, the piecing is gorgeous and so is the quilting - and you obviously did your best work, regardless of the fact that he's the "ex".
Beautiful work - and even more beautiful heart!!

callie 03-11-2015 08:30 AM

Beautiful quilt, quilting and colors! Congrats.

BerninaGirl 03-11-2015 08:37 AM

I like that the stars are a different color! Looks wonderful!

MargeD 03-11-2015 11:15 AM

What a great thing to do, especially since you have remained friends. I like the idea of the kids just putting it on his bed and waiting to see how long it is before he notices. It's a beautiful quilt.

rainsprite 03-11-2015 12:16 PM

Lovely fabric colors and wonderful quilting you have done a terrific job and increased harmony I am sure.

julybaby8 03-11-2015 12:50 PM
