I could not leave it behind...I was looking for 'music' fabric for my dad's wallhanging, and knew if I left this and came back next week it would not be there...
I have no idea what I'll use if for..possibly a tote (I need to figure out how to make these properly yet, I keep seeing really cute versions) for a gift for girlfriends... |
Oh, I love it!! I would guess I'm an "Apple Bottom" type of woman!! lol At least judging by the pictures in your fabric!! Can't wait to see what you make with it!!! Do post pictures when you decide!
LOL!! Cute!
I love the one that is so tiny that she slipped down in her shoe :-)))
I have some of that and even resemble the pineapple lady if her hair was longer! LOL
The one 'slipped down into the shoe' is the banana lady, with an avacado lady and the lady with a grape or berry bikini.
It is cool - isn't it. Sorry do not have the designer name - that bit of information was not on the small section of selvage. If I'm a good girl, I might see if there is any left next week - good excuse to go back for more fabric! |
I have some of the same- I got it from ebay.
It's says Mary Stewart for Elizabeth's Studio. It's called Beach ladies. The website is: www.autonovelties.com I think I will make a wall hanging with mine. It looks so much fun. |
Oh so funny ! You got me on there lol....I just love it...made me really laugh outloud
Not telling which one I am!!! Too cute!
What an imagination the designer of this fabric had.
awwwwwwwwww
I bought some of that, too!!! I'm thinking a tote with plastic lining for holding the swimsuits when we go swimming!!
hehe!! I love it, I can see why you grabbed it!! I would make a great beach tote!!

Hummmm....I wonder where they got my picture?...hahaha
Ditter |
I had such a GOOD laugh over your fabric, thanks!!!! I know the designer came to Florida and took pics of me at the beach, lol! I can't wait to see what you do with your fabric.
Very funny, can't wait to see what you do with it.
Bronnyb, welcome to the board, and that fabric is adorable!! A tote will be perfect to show off the great print. There are several free patterns for totes on the net. Let us see pictures of whatever you use it for.

I wish I could say I was the cherry lady! More like the pear...:(
That is some of the cutest fabric ever. I think it would make a wonderful tote! One of those bow tucks bags I keep seeing on the forum! Post piccies when you are done! |
I've been thinking about this, and as I could only afford 40cm of it at the time & I'm not sure if there will be any when I go back - yes a tote or two. I might look for some more special fabric and use this as a panel/feature strip or pocket. I will be carefully cutting so as not to waste a skerrick!
I think that would a the coolest apron.
I love that fabric. So cute.
Me too....I am going to use some of this series as a valance in my kitchen that I have used fruit as a theme.
That is too funny!
Is that really what I look like from the back :XD:
I love it :-)now how funny is that :-)
I have the same print in a border fabric. Soooooo cute! I'm going to put it on a tote I think!
I love the fruitbottom ladies! They just make me smile. I bought some last year on a shop hop. Originally I was going to make curtins for the kitchen in our condo in FL, but was concerned about fading.
So, I ended up doing a screenplay tote bag and a large lap quilt. Mine was the border fabric of these ladies. I made rows of red and white pinwheels and alternated them with rows of fruitbottoms. I've also seen them worked up as a border on beach towels. Very cute. Have fun working with them! |
How do they come up with this stuff??

I received a set of towels for my birthday with the 'Beach Ladies' border print used on the bottom of towels. I love them. If I can my camera charged I will post a picture. |
Well, until 6 years ago I can safely say I was the cherry lady. But alas, all good things come to an end-literally
Now I am the middle pear. Still, not so bad. I have to get some of this fabric. Don't know what for, but want some. I just e-mailed my DS's and DD the pic. It is too funny. |
That is cute material, I have seen it somewhere myself .. what will you make with it?
Wow, cute cute fabric, thanks for sharing! Would be cute for a wall hanging!
A beach bag would be perfect for this fabric.
I have made a beach bag with the border fabric from this collection and also a large tote bag and gave it as a 60th birthday present for a friend, filled it with wine, cheese, crackers, etc. She loved it!!!

I have seen this fabric before, I think it is called "fruit ladies", who is the maker? It is fabulous, we can all see ourselves, if there is a pear in there, it's me! lol Michelle in Texas
Really cute fabric.
I was looking at past copies of Quilter's World Magazine on line and there is an issue---I think----- April 0f 2009 that uses that same fabric in a quilt and in several bags.
very cute. Penny
