I think you would not need batting in it.

I like the look of the chenille in your quilt. It gives it a lot of added dimension. Looks very soft and cuddly. Glad you didn't abandon this project.

I think a child would love all the different textures. I don't think I could have mastered the chenille...at all!

Good job and I agree, washed flannel and turned would be perfect without batting. A touchy, feely pretty quilt!
