Have a Blessed day Ellen |
I'd saved a link once at 2 little hooligans blogspot but can't get it to come up now. i think it was this one. i know it's simply squares with a heat resistant fusible inside and a tube sewn to opposite corners. then those metal D rings sewn to the opposite corners. simple.

These are wonderful!!! So happy to see them and learn about a tutorial I apparently missed!
Started on mine today. Many thanks to Gail B for posting her casserole carrier that started the ball rolling! I cut my squares at 20 1/2 inches and I am glad I did. I used 2 layers of Hobbs 80/20 batt and with the quilting my sandwich has shrunk in to almost 20 inches. I will re-square it at 20 inches before adding my handle, D-rings and binding.
Do you put the metal rings on all four sides?
just two sides. the tube handle goes on the other corners across the carrier itself. see photos here on page 6 under EASy Casserole CArrier.
Great job! THey do make great gifts and you did fabulous on them!

Thanks for sharing.
I think this is going on list of things to do. Something for each of my sisters in law for Christmas 2012! |
There isn't a true pattern, but Gail B posted this with some info. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...r-t171016.html I did use an extra layer of batting as recommended on the Insul-Bright label and I really like the extra weight. Very simple to make and impresses people who don't sew/quilt.
Wow...great idea...you can gift one this way ; )
They are awesome! I made a couple for gifts last year and this year needed a gift for my landlord and made her one of those. Of course I made me one too. I added a caserole dish or pie plate with them. It was a great gift!

Just made my 1st one yest & will be making more!:)
www.craftygemini.com/cassarolecarrier has a tutorial on it. She makes this one without using a ring. Everything is done in fabric. Great pattern
