I am in a happy rut....
 

I seem to be quite happy making the Double Slice Layer cake pattern in various shades of purple. So I am in a rut, but a happy one.

Here is the top I just finished. If you look closely at the border, that fabric has black cats in it. My two favorite things in one fabric! Purple and cats.

I like your colors, and it made for a pretty quilt.

Very pretty. I just finished another double slice double size with matching pillow cover. Some of my favorite colors, it is for our bed. I have made lots and lots of double slice quilts, several different sizes.

I too like your colors. It is a bright and cheery quilt.

Finding your happy zone is part of why most of us like quilting. If it starts stressing you, then it is not your bliss anymore. You made a gorgeous quilt here. Another perspective is that you are simply curious about how many combinations of purple are there for you to make? That is an intellectual and very good question. I wouldn't call this a rut my friend. You are answering an age old question for all of us. Somebody has to do it!:thumbup:

Hot Rod says Hi back. He and I are getting ready to piece a backing for this quilt. :) He is a good quilt helper. He is, however, taking up most of the room on my sewing chair. I usually get the first 1/3 of the chair and he claims the rest. It's okay. He feels more involved this way. :)

How neat that you used this purple cat fabric too! It is pretty unique! Glad your niece liked it.
