I can see it taking shape!
1 Attachment(s)
I've begun FMQ-ing my top, and I can see it beginning to take shape. It's not perfect, but it's coming along. I'm sure by the time I finish the entire thing I'll have at least ONE perfect circle out of the bunch!
I'm going to do all the white areas first and if I think it needs it and I have the urgent need to keep going, I'll go back and fill in the blue areas with a variegated teal King Tut thread. Pleased with what I'm seeing so far. :o Watson |
Nice work -- your quilting enhances the quilt.

Looking good! Your circles are good and all you need to do is change the name if it bothers you. You can call them bubbles as the quilt colours remind me of water.
Looks good! Very pretty
You are doing great! I need to get up the nerve to try. Love the quilt colors.
Great work! Love the colors too~~
Looks great! Love your circles in the sashing.

Lovely. They look like white stones lining a deep pond.

Done is better than perfect. It is coming along very nicely. You should be very happy with your progress :-)

NatalieF, the pattern is Square in a Square. Missouri Quilt Co. has a tutorial on it.

I really like this quilt, and the colors are so pretty. Your quilting is fine. I've got to get the nerve to start this too. I doubt I could make one round circle.LOL
Good work and I love the quilt!

I think this is lovely.

You are doing very well.

All look great!

Keep up the great work. It has wonderful visual impact. I am sure you will choose something for the colored portions that will complement what you are doing in the sashing. I also like your colors.

Looks great. Nice work.

Very pretty!
Beautiful! Perfect circles are hard, but keep practicing and you'll keep getting better.
Watson, I love your circles in the sashing and it looks as though you are getting quite comfortable with them. Are you FMQing on your DSM? I love the colors in your "square in square" pattern.
jmoore, yes I am using my Singer S18 to do the FMQ-ing. If you aren't familiar with it, it is the same as the Janome 6500P. You will likely recognize that one. I'm getting more used to wrestling scads of material around. I'm using a ruler foot to make the straight lines and a FMQ foot for the circles. I ordered a non-hopping FMQ foot, a super slider and the blue bobbin case for my birthday so we'll see if that helps even more. I'm really hoping so at .37 cents on the dollar Canadian!

It looks like you're doing very well with your FMQ. Every quilt will get better.
Very nicely done. Wish I had your talent!
Looks great! Done trumps perfect!!!
Your circles are great, as is the rest of your quilting. Keep up the good work.
Great job on your circles. Have been practicing making them and can really appreciate yours.
Thanks for all your kind words.
Must admit, I've had practice. I did a large wall hanging and the background was a stone wall almost completely filled with pebbling. Watson |
Looks really nice.
