I WAS going to do this on point. I did not realize that pieces that should go near the edge had to be cut slightly larger (until I had already cut mine) so I just made it straight up.
For some reason these two colors do not photograph very well, so I am including what the fabrics actually look like. |
well "chicken" I sure like it, and I reeeely like the fabrics.
I looks great to me !!! Colors are pretty.
Awesome job, fabrics are great, and really make the pattern stand out. I like it this way!
You didn't chicken out...you used your creativity. Your quilt is beautiful.

Cluck...cluck...I LOVE it!
very nice!
I agree. It turned out very nice. Sometimes what we intend to do doesn't work but the end result is even better than our original plan.
it's beautiful big sis.
I love it! I was just thinking that I want to make a quilt with only 2 fabrics....this may be it for me! I think you did a fantastic job!
Gosh, that's beautiful!!!! What do you mean about the needing to make it bigger on the ends?
Beautiful
I love this quilt. You really did a good job on it.

I found it in a search just using the words -- quilt blocks Hole in the Barn Door. The site is jeannesquilting.com. |
Beautiful quilt even tho it's not on point. The good news is that you learned something. I learned that same lesson - LOL.
very nice
It turned out to be stunning. Putting it on point would use fewer barndoor blocks but is a lot tricker to piece. Nice job.
super nice colors and great quilt
i think it looks wonderful!

:D :D It turned out beautiful!! Love the end result!! |
Actually, you made it just fine. You just need to hang it 'on point' instead of straight, that's all!
Beautiful job and excellent choice of colors! I love it.
I like your quilt better than the picture. :D
Oooo very pretty!!! I love those two fabrics :D:D:D
I can't wait to see it finished :D:D:D |

Lovely quilt! Those setting blocks are a bit trickier than we'd like for them to be...well, it won't happen to you again...and you do have a lovely quilt and all's well that ends well! Good for you for seeing it through to completion!
I don't understand the bit about the edge pieces needing to be larger. I never heard that, and I have made several quilts on point, and never had that issue. Was it specified in the pattern?
Your quilt did turn out really beautiful, without being on point. I like the colors a lot!! |
Love the colors and the quilt is awesome!!!
The churn dash, or hole in the barn door is one of my fave's. The colors are perfect together. Good job!
Love the colors and the quilt.
Beautiful! And I prefer it 'straight up' too! It's such a great block and the design shows up better the way you did it. :-D
I'm so happy you included closeups of the fabrics. That made such a difference in the way I appreciated that gorgeous quilt.

I think your quilt is beautiful. Love the fabric. You did a wonderful job. Love that pattern.
Great job on the quilt the colors and the pattern! Did you by chance get your fabric from Connecting Threads? The had some similar to what you used.
Wow! I really, really like the fabric combo! Nice work!
This is great! I really like the color combination. Are you going to hand quilt it?
