Gorgeous quilt! What a fabulous gift!

Snooze2978 03-08-2016 07:12 AM

I've never one either but have one on my shelf for later this year. The recipents have already picked out their fabrics too. But as I'm teaching the gent how to make his 1st quilt, I told them that if he doesn't finish his, I will but will make it larger and that will be their quilt from me. Its an incentive for him to finish it so he's not in the "doghouse" with his wife.

And he's doing very well on his though he had a slow start.

That is an absolutely beautiful quilt. You did great job and I am sure the recipient will treasure it.

DWRs are a real favorite for me because they have made the transition from traditional to modern or contemporary so beautifully. Your quilt for the upcoming wedding is so beautiful in this color scheme. I know it will be loved and you should be so pleased with your quilt.

LGJARN52 03-09-2016 04:17 AM

Never ever in wildest dreams could I conquer the beast as you have done. AWESOME!!

JoyjoyMarie 03-09-2016 04:24 AM

Such a beauty of a pattern, and you made it in such up to date colors - they are sure to love and enjoy it for years.

Kris P 03-09-2016 04:31 AM

Wow, great job! DWR is on my to do list, too. I think i'd have trouble giving it away. Can't wait to see what you have the LAQ do! Please be sure to post it again when its quilted.

Awesome! Please show it again after quilting... DWR has always intimidated me!

coopah 03-09-2016 06:00 AM

Yes, you did! It is spectacular, and I did a queen top, so I know. Smart choice to take it to a long arm quilter. Smile away...you've done a beautiful job/

Wow! it was a lot of work. They have a king size bed so this thing is monster size (at least for me) 113" x 102"

This is just the quilt top. Tomorrow I am taking it to the long armer. I am so excited I have never sent a quilt out to be long armed before

Thanks for looking

Beautiful Quilt! I salute you, good job! I made a Golden Wedding Ring quilt for my parents Golden Wedding anniversary, it has 6 "corners" instead of the 4 in the DWR. That took a while!

Nan C 03-09-2016 08:28 AM

ctrysass2012 03-09-2016 08:43 PM

Lovely quilt! I purchased 1 in 2005 that was probably made late '60s or early '70 that was hand pieced & quilted. Didn't think that I would ever do 1 but I might try a runner or topper. Great colors. Can't wait to see it quilted.

mjkgquilt 03-09-2016 09:30 PM

Very nice, the dwr is on my bucket list!

bljackson58 03-10-2016 09:12 PM

Congrats to the couple on their wedding and for their beautiful quilt! What a special gift. I've always wanted to do a double wedding ring quilt. When I was a teenager, I made a cardboard pattern and started cutting out pieces. I had know idea about quilting. Now I know what an undertaking it would be to do one, let along a king size. I still have the pieces...maybe some day.

Love your colors and it looks beautiful!
