Oooo, I'm so jealous. I have always wanted a treadle because that's what I learned on.

JoyjoyMarie 03-13-2011 09:39 AM

What a beauty! Have fun with her!

Margie 03-13-2011 10:12 AM

That is beautiful I love the old machines with the pretty decals...so much character compared to these generic plastic machines.

Jennifer22206 03-13-2011 10:14 AM

super pretty! Treadleing takes some getting used to, but it's so much fun!

I tried to sell it locally, thought a lady that had just opened a quilt shop might like to have it as a decorative piece but said she had no space for it so it sits in a room gathering dust. They really are a beautiful piece of work, they don't make em like that anymore.

I think so. He indulges me even though he doesn't understand my compulsion.

Beautiful decals. Great find.

It's so beautiful! I saw a very old machine at Goodwill last night but I'm determined not to start another collection! If anyone is in Seattle and you're interested, it's at the Goodwill on Dearborn.

Very nice, my hubs has been surfing ebay and keeping watch for me, at first I didn't know he was doing it but he finally told me. I took my machine in for its yearly checkup and it took longer than they told me because they were busy. It drove me nuts and he started looking then.

I feel really lucky, the only machine I don't have backup for is the embroidery machine.

She is beautiful. I agree. I hope I look that good at 90. I just
hope I make it to 90 or maybe not, depends on health.

pawebdoctor 03-13-2011 09:00 PM

Did you post it with a picture here on the Board? Bet someone would be happy to purchase it from you...I for one would love to see it :!:

Wow. I wish I could find one. My grandmother left me the machine and after years of using it and then buying a new Singer I gave it to my sister to re-do. She re-did it alright...threw away the machine and kept the cabinet! I was heart broken when I got it back. I re-did the cabinet, cleaned it up and its just waiting for another machine to go in it! :) I LOVED that machine! You are lucky to have found such a pretty one!

quiltqueen61 03-14-2011 09:01 AM

who'd a thunk, well, I will see about getting some pics posted, if I can figure out how to do it. It would be awfully expensive to ship, but I guess it's worth a shot. I think some of the belts are worn and probably would have to be replaced, guess that is expected on a machine that is vintage, assuming you can still get parts for them. Thanks for the reply.

Yes, it may be expensive to ship, but you just might find an interested buyer locally here in the Northeast that would be willing to travel to see, purchase and pick it up. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Good luck!

greaterexp 03-14-2011 09:38 AM

Gorgeous! I love old machines! I hope I look that good when I'm 60!

Marvel 03-14-2011 10:23 AM

I think you have a very good deal even if some parts have been added. I agree the decals are great. Its just lovely and hope you sew many miles on it.

Nanjun 03-14-2011 04:02 PM

She is a beauty.

I think Lucy would be appropriate, since she's a Red Head.
