Some day I hope to have a room like yours JanetM, for many years I've had to bring my machine to the living room table when I need to sew. Maybe I'll have my sons old bedroom when he moves out (which maybe never-I must treat him to good).

The room I use is my son's old room, it was the biggest of the 3 in the back of the house. When he was in college I kept telling him he was living in my sewing room. When he finally moved out I didn't hesitate a moment to claim it. Of course he moved back in later but I stuck him in another room when he did!

I wished I could just get in mine.We just moved, and the room that I'm using as my sewing room is maybe 8'x 14'.Which really isn't a bad size except that the one I moved out of was a two car-carport.The only thing I can get to is my sewing machine and that's because I had to alter a prom dress for my niece.

Ok, now I see I am surrounded by neat freaks who think they are untidy...I just cannot post a picture of my half of our workroom...just imagine...collector's emporium (ok...be honest something from the set of "Steptoe and Son"), bookstore, spider sanctuary, complete with antique cobwebs...and there you have it "earthwalker's sewing room"...my stash/vintage clothing (to be cut up) collection is so precariously stacked you have to do an "Indiana Jones" to search for fabric. I sew at the dining room table, and my machines are stored in the linen closet.

I do swear though, I am trying to reform (sometime in the next decade at least).

PS, the rest of our home, while rather eclectic in style is very neat and dusted...no doubt psychologists amongst you could have a field day with this woman's quirks.

We bought a 5 bedroom house but only have 2 girls (who insist on sharing a room but they're still young so that will change, lol) so I have a sewing room, a toy room and a schoolroom and it's such a luxury. I used to keep my machine on a baker's rack in the dining room of our previous apartment and even made a king sized quilt in there.

OK...I moved into this room 7 days ago and everything was neat and orderly and now look at the fine mess I've made! Isn't it lovely? I missed my messes in all the packing and moving and now i am a happy, pieceful quilter again!

Here's a couple of picture of mine as it sits this morning. Oh, the shame! The humanity!

Your "room" looks like a store. I am very envious.

First of all, it's been a hoot seeing so many sewing rooms. I've spent so much time looking at the photos thinking either "I have that!" or "I want that!" or "I wonder if I could do that?"

Second of all, think about the fact that from these rooms come some of the most beautiful works of art a person could ever create!
