Beautiful quilt... I have always quilted my own quilts, learn as you go. I thought since I am putting all this time in the top that I want to go start to finish. That and when I started I couldnt afford to have someone quilt them for me. I was unable to figure out the hand basting and still havent mastered that lol. I use t pins to pin my backing to my carpet, then layer the quilt sandwich and use the curved safty pins everywhere. Holds tight with no puckers. I have done this method for hand quilting also. I think she will love her new quilt imperfections and all. Great job cant wait to see it quilted.

You should be so proud. Lovely quilt - love it, love it. I agree with those that said diagnoal-cross hatching or simple SITD(sometimes this presents challenges if you have difficulty sewing in straight lines, between the seams).
Terrific quilt. Tks for sharing. |
It is lovely. I wish my first quilt looked that good!

Very pretty. You did a great job!

Realiy nice job. Stitch in the ditch or diagonal lines would look great since it's geometric in pattern. I like the idea of quilting away from the seam so you don't have to fuss too much with stitching right in the ditch.

Great job. Love your color choices!

The colors are so pretty! I love yellow quilts.

Great job. If you LOVE it that's all that counts. I like what you did, piecing the border. Keep up the good work!

Your quilt looks great, love the colors. Just a suggestion, if you do go to a LAQ ask her to do simple quilting then the cost is more afforadable, unless price isn't an object. Have fun with whatever you decide to do. Great gift.
