I am so excited! I just completed the top for my first grandchilds quilt- I will start machine quilting it tomorrow. I would love some input on what everyone thinks about the binding....the checkerboard borders are 2" wide finished size. Even with a narrow binding, I am a bit worried that the binding will really spoil the checkerboard effect of the border. I wish I had thought of this sooner....any suggestions? :?:

Sew as narrow of a seam allowance as possible? Like say 1/8" and fold binding to back?
Or checkerboard the binding too? p.s. very nice quilt! Pretty colors that fit the pattern well. |
I think whatever binding color you choose it will be fine. The checkerboard will still show. Darling quilt. Grandbabies are the best!:)

Beautiful quilt.

BEAUTIFUL QUILT!
Just bind it with the same light fabric you've used to "frame" each of the blocks. As long as the finished width of the binding isn't much larger than that of the frames, it'll look totally appropriate. |
I like it. It looks so soothing. Love the checkboards too.

I really like it and don't think a narrow white binding will be a distraction at all.

Very nice job.

I'm the color lover! I think a narrow binding in any of the pastels you've used will make a nice frame for your darling quilt. White will wash it out too much and with so many white squares in the checkerboard, it will visually bleed into the binding too much. Just my opinion.

Adorable...is there something written in the stars?
