I found a penny today. And I got lucky. My nephew was out junking here in Muscatine. He stopped buy to return my post hole digger. Anyhow he ask me to look at this sewing machine he found. I opened it up, and took it out of the case. It was a light weight singer machine. I took it down to Neals sewing & vacuum business. Jeff thought it could be a 1920-1930 singer sewing machine. Someone didn't know what they were doing by throwing it out. Or didn't need it. Don't know why. I tinkered with it. But didn't have any luck getting it to sew. So Jeff will work on it, and tells me, he doesn't see much of a cost to repair it.This the machine. And these are all of the part, that were with the machine. The machine, come in a box with a handle. The box looks like almost new

*** Congratulations on a very nice looking 221 Featherweight. *** |
Wow - a featherweight! One of the "tricks" to getting it to sew is to thread it correctly, from right to left. And the bobbin should be going counter-clockwise.
|
WOW, you sure got lucky with that one.

I piece all my quilts with a featherweight, or a sew handy. I use mine every day. It goes and goes and goes. If I sew knits, or need a zig zag off I go to my elnas, but every day my 221 goes on and on. I love mine, you will love yours too.
|
Lucky you! Enjoy it.

what a gem... I hope Jeff can get it running smoothly for you.

A great find worth many, many pennies... did I say many, many pennies??? No reason it shouldn't work if all the cleaning and directions are followed, unless the wiring or motor is bad. Enjoy.
