Ok..its official...I spent way too much for this foot..but I dearly LOVE it and don't know how I lived without it! Of course, its my christmas present and I got it 40% off....so I had to go for it! Its actually made to make leather gloves, but it is fantastic to use for applique or anything where you need to sew a curve. You know how you have to lift your foot..set it down..2 stitches...and then do that again...well, this lets you just varoom around that curve...its sooo much fun!

So do you have that thing that you love but you spent too much on it?

grammo013 12-06-2009 12:24 PM

Where do I get that? I love it. I also have all the gadgets now if only I would use them lol.

marsye 12-06-2009 12:28 PM

Merry Christmas :-)

Maride 12-06-2009 12:28 PM

I have been looking at it at my LQS but can not justify th e $XX.00 it was marked for. Don't worry, your secret (the price)is safe with me. I have it for my older Bernina but it doesn't fit the newer one, so I can not use it until I get the older one fixed.

I bought one about 2 weeks ago, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm glad to hear that you love it.

amma 12-06-2009 02:33 PM

Oooo I love it!!! It reminds me of the new Dyson vacuum cleaner, but waaay more fun to use LOL Merry Christmas :D :D :D

n2scraplvr 12-06-2009 03:02 PM

Way to go, girl! I wanna go varoooming around curves w/o getting a ticket!!! :-D :-D

Lacelady 12-06-2009 03:05 PM

I LOVE a good gadget, and use them all the time, but I never thought of getting this one, 'cos I don't sew leather - thanks for the idea for using it on curves, why didn't I think of that?

barnbum 12-06-2009 03:15 PM

Wow--so it's like a needle on wheels?? Cool!!!

Ninnie 12-06-2009 03:18 PM

What a great gift to your self!!

Tiffany 12-06-2009 03:34 PM

I had to go look at the number...its a Bernina foot..number 55. Its called a roller foot. Your Bernina dealer will have it. I don't know if they are made for other machines, but I'll bet they are. It could be called a leather foot or roller foot or even an applique foot. It really did make quick work of all the flowers on the table topper that I just finished.

:-D

Luv2Kreate 12-06-2009 04:35 PM

I would love to see this in action...do you think you could make a short video of you using it to applique??

sandpat 12-06-2009 04:55 PM

I might just give that a try tomorrow, although I'm not sure how I'm gonna hold the camera while I do it....should be interesting.

beachlady 12-06-2009 04:57 PM

Thanks for telling us about this foot. Gotta get me one! My Bernia is over 20 years old, but runs like a dream! Thanks Patti!

amma 12-06-2009 05:03 PM

Do the feed dogs still help when using this foot?
I am going to go search out one for my machine :D :D :D

Esqmommy 12-06-2009 05:11 PM

How cool is that!! Is it made for the new Bernina's??

sewjoyce 12-06-2009 05:39 PM

I like that foot!!!! I also have a Bernina. OK -- how much?? Should I sit down?? :-D :-D

Mamaskeeto 12-06-2009 05:44 PM

Merry Christmas to you!

Yes...you should...and sit very low too...but I did get mine on sale and with a coupon. I usually wait until my LQS has a class and she always has class coupons for anything in the store. Then I used that coupon through the mail from Bernina.

I would think they fit the new Bernina as I was told that all the feet that fit the Artista/Aurora fit the new 820/830s.

You want the feed dogs up so they help feed the fabric through.

I'll try to do a video today...we'll see how that works.

Esqmommy 12-07-2009 06:43 AM

How much? Is that a rude question?

Bevanger 12-07-2009 09:07 AM

merry christmas to YOU

RedGarnet222 12-07-2009 10:11 AM

I have never even seen a foot like this one. I love any gadget that is functional and makes my life easier.

Yvonne 12-07-2009 10:51 AM

This looks really, really neat. I found just a short video on the Bernina site.

:-D

I have a Janome and I wonder if they make that type of foot for it. I imagine the Bernina and Janome are not compatable. Darn those dealers anyway!

sandpat 12-07-2009 02:57 PM

Yvonne...I'm so glad you found that video..I was going to go look today too. I did try to do a short video..did ya'll know its almost impossible to try to sew and hold the camera at the same time???

I tried though and here is the result if it works.

Yvonne 12-07-2009 04:49 PM

Sandpat, Thanks for the video. I am impressed you could sew and video both at the same time. I was a little concerned for your fingers though! It's amazing that that little wheel can make it that much easier to sew around curves.
Thank you again, you talented lady!

sandpat 12-07-2009 05:01 PM

Ummm...I was a little concerned too

sewjoyce 12-07-2009 05:36 PM

Wow -- great videos!!! (And I love your southern accent :D ) And, I was also concerned about your fingers but you did a GREAT job!!

Awwww......I wanna varoom around curves, too........ Is this little critter made only for Bernina's? I have a Pfaff. I wonder if there's anything like it for mine.

Luv2Kreate 12-08-2009 07:38 AM

Hmmm. I'm working on two quilts right now - Radiant Suns and Take Two Aspirin - and both have curves. I think I'll have to check this foot out. Thanks for the info.
