My brother's wife is having a birthday this Sunday, and he wanted a quilt for her gift. He asked me to make a queen-sized one in blue, with a great big heart on it, with their initials S + S in the middle. I could do anything else I wanted to it. EXCEPT "dumpster blue"......which she hates. I've had this fabric for years, and had no idea what to do with it, so this seemed perfect for it. What do you think?

Debbie, I think you did a wonderful job! I love how you utilized the different designs in the S's. Looks to me that you fulfilled his requests to a "T."

Thank you all! My DH made the design for the "S" (which is kind of funny-shaped, but if you knew my brother, you'd understand that reference to his humor!) I told my DB that I got the better end of the bargain for making this quilt.... he's a mechanic, and did some work on our two vans and only charged us for the parts! Then he reset the automatic locks on my van for free. So I told him I'd do the quilt in exchange for all the labor I didn't pay him for. The fabric was from an estate sale, the backing was from a bolt I bought on sale, and the "batting" was a blanket I bought on clearance for $1.00! So I only had the labor I put in it myself, and I had 2 months to work on it......I DID come out the winner on this one!
