I started looking for panels, thanks to sewbizgirl's post: How cute is this panel?

to add to the totes I have been making for Sadie's Dream for a Cure. I found a couple on my bus trip to Kokomo, Indiana, including a panel that makes an open sided tote that houses a fabric "paper" doll and a complete wardrobe. It is called "Dream and a Wish" by Riley Blake Designs. I backed the clothes with Fusible Fleece to "stick" to the doll, which I sandwiched with Peltex and fusible fleece. I faced each half of the tote with fusible fleece and then put Soft and Stable in between both, rather than the recommended Peltex.

Here are the totes:

And the panels:

And the same panel sewbizgirl used:

and finally all rolled up and secured with velcro ties, along with the race cars and construction vehicles (3 per panel)

Hope they supply a bit of joy to the kids who have to undergo treatment for cancer, and give others a few ideas for their charities/families. Thanks again Bonnie for the idea! You fellow quilters are the best.

These are just awesome! They will surely make a bright spot in the day for the kids who receive them. What a great thing for you to do!

Wonderful job! These will surely bring some comfort. This is a local charity for me. I've helped cut some of the kits, so if you get one that's wonky, probably my fault...

Love the ones with roads on them. They are all great. That's so nice of you.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I just wanted to share to give you ideas for your charities/families. If it hadn't been for Bonnie, I wouldn't have thought about doing it. That's what is so nice about this board...........the sharing and caring! Thanks again sewbizgirl.

luvstoquilt 11-03-2015 05:32 AM

Adorable and so nice the work you are doing.

Patched 11-03-2015 05:53 AM

These are great, you have done a really good job. You are a special person for giving of your time and resources to help others. I have been looking for the road panels with farm pictures instead of construction. Have not found any. Quite a few years ago there were some available, but I can't find any now.

regm 11-03-2015 10:03 AM

You did a fantastic job.

Leesewzany 11-03-2015 10:36 AM

ManiacQuilter2 11-03-2015 02:47 PM

Those panels some kid is going to enjoy especially when some vehicles are included. Bags are so cute. Job well done.

joyce888 11-03-2015 06:43 PM

Everything is so cute! You are sure to put big smiles on some deserving children's faces.

quiltmaker52 11-03-2015 07:03 PM

WOW! How much fun they will all bring to the lucky recipients.

Grandma Peg 11-03-2015 08:26 PM

Each project is cuter than the next.

copycat 11-04-2015 03:22 AM

You sure will put a smile on many a child's face as they enjoy using your quilts and tote bags. :)

I like the Velcro ties around the quilts. Can you tell me your process for attaching the fabric to the Velcro? That is a neat idea. Thank you!

msrosecooks 11-04-2015 03:35 AM

Those are neat!!!!The kids will enjoy them.

tammyg 11-04-2015 03:37 AM

Great job. The kids will love them.

bearisgray 11-04-2015 05:03 AM

Those are all great ideas.

The road ones look like so much fun. I wonder if one could somehow/somewhere put pockets to store/carry the cars around when the road is rolled up.

I think they will just roll up in the mat (it is folded in thirds and then rolled) as the Velcro is adjustable and the roll is fairly snug.

Wanabee Quiltin 11-04-2015 07:12 AM

So glad you shared these with us, they are just precious, you did such a good job making them.
