Quilts of Valor and maybe some of the King size ones can be made into two twins. There are many oragnizations that take tops and finnish them. Keep looking.

If you have not found homes for these unfinshed quilts I would gladly take them and finish them. My quilting group makes quilt for "newborns in need" and a few of them make for the Linus project. The rest we can finish up and donate to nursing homes. I am located just west of Springfield mo. So picking them up would not be a problem.

Here on the board, Jan in VA, is collecting them for her son in law's unit over in Afghanistan...they are trying to get over a hundred and I'm not sure if they've reached it yet...they will finish them if you send them the top.

I offered to do this, but she told me they are "covered over" in quilts from him- lap, bed, car, etc.

Our group of church ladies make them up ahead of time. When there is a house fire locally or within our county, they quickly turn them into finished quilts and donate one or more to the disaster. Families are most appreciative. They also make quilts up and once a year donate them to a children's home here in Iowa and that way they still stay in our own state or as per above, in our own town/county.

Our Quilt Guild takes quilt tops and finishes them, then donates them to the Wounded Warriers Project, the local Women's Shelter (and Men's Shelter because men do get abused) or the Family Resources Center. We would love whatever you can part with. We just gave 50 to the Women's Shelter plus 50 Christmas stockings last night. We also gave 121 quilts to the service hospital in Afganistan. I will gladly pay shipping if you can spare any.

I really don't know where you could donate all of it but that is definitely a treasure find.

Jan in va might want some. Check with her.

Our quilt guild accepts quilt tops, quilts them, and donates to charity. The guilds in your area probably do the same.
