I made one also

When I was on the board this morning I saw the link for making fabric boxes and knew that I would have to make some of them. Today was a public holiday and the end of school holidays which meant much traffic on the roads so I decided to stay home and sew. This is my version of the fabric box. I made mine 15" to start with and very pleased with the result. I have picked out the fabric to make 4 more.

That is awesome. I love it & the colors you picked. I am going to have to make a few of these too.
It's beautifully done.
very cute. love the colors
You made a beautiful fabric box! Great job!
Wow. They're becoming popular.
Cute! I wonder if you could hand sew the inner wing tops to meet in the middle for a divided box for holding all your sewing things like rotary cutter, scissors etc.
Love your colors. I did mine with 12" squares, but will try the bigger size next time. It looks like a nice useable size box. Thanks for sharing.
Great job!
Adorable fabric box! Now I need to find the link too! How long did it take you to make?
Pretty! I am also planning to make some this week.
Very pretty fabric choices! Please show us others when done!
Very nice. Aren't they fun and fast. And it is something that can really be used for something. They can dress up any little gift you are giving to someone. I love them.
They also use up some major scraps. Although I did make one from a 9" sq. and I really like it. You can get four boxes from two fat quarters. I want to make nesting sets in 9, 11, and 13" sizes. I thank the frenchfryqueen for these!:D peace |

I want to make the larger one, like yours. The original patter said to sew the corners at 2 inches - with 15 inche squares, what measurement did you use? PM me.
That is a job well done. I want to tackle one of these.
Cute good job.
I'll bet they are addictive! Great fabrics you used.
nice job!!!!!
It's beautifully done!
Love your color choices. Guess this will have to make it on my "Roundtoit" List.
i made four they are addictive. so easy to make and takes no time to make. and they are cute. you can make them any size.
Its looks pretty cool, you've done a super job on this. How sturdy are the sides? Would a larger size need interfacing to stop the sides flopping or buckling? Just wondering as I'd love to try making this.
Love the colors
Neat looking box, and I love your fabric choices!
Very pretty....
These fabric boxes are very nice. I think I am going to have to get busy and make some too. Yours is adorable. These boxes would be great neighbor gifts with a few goodies inside.
I wonder if you used some sort of insulating bat, if they could be used as bread baskets. Seems like you could just fold the flaps to the center to keep the bread warm.
Did you use only batting?
I used flannel as the middle bit and whilst the sides are not what you call "sturdy" they do stay up well. I suppose it depends on what you put into the box.
Someone asked earlier how long it took to make - it was about an hour from start to finish. |
Could you direct me to the link
