WEll? Is it a finger cot or not?! Yes I am a dirty old lady!!

granny_59 10-31-2010 07:08 AM

LOL. My cutting mat is on the centimeter not on the inch side.......it was quite hard to get the leaves attached so it helped a lot to have a better grip of the needle.

clem55 10-31-2010 07:10 AM

OMG!! Laughing until the tears flowed. Yep, I'm an old lady with a dirty mind too.LOL (have to admit, it has been years since I've seen one)

I just love it!

When I was a little girl, my father was a cabinet maker and also sold Hotpoint stoves. The Hotpoint people sent him a huge box of "fake food" for display. That "pretend" food was the best gift my sister and I ever had.......we used to play for hours: house, restaurant, store :-P

tinkerfeet 10-31-2010 08:24 AM

That is so cute. What a great idea. So much better than the plastic vegies.

tlrnhi 10-31-2010 08:25 AM

Tippy 10-31-2010 08:50 AM

I was always told not to play with my food.. but I think this is the exception.. that is just awesome!!!

You did an amazing job!

noveltyjunkie 10-31-2010 09:59 AM

Wow- this is amazing. I have to admit that I despise califlower as a food, but even I would love to play with the one you made! Where on earth did you get the idea/pattern?

Thank you for this one. I'm making a blankie of fleece for a friend's grandchild of 2 years, and have put carrots on it already. The rest of these can be cut in half, smushed down and sewed on so the child can pet them and get a good idea of what veggies look like in their real form, since Grandma was worried about the mother's constant junk food diet. This will be sort of a subliminal effort to teach the kid....Just like making my own daughter's ice cream cone quilt has added several pounds to my own body. I love mint chip doubled with strawberry..

thank you all so much. As I figured some might ask I made pics as I went along.
I posted them as "how to make play food cauliflower" under the tutorial section as it might get "lost" here.
