Agree and will add, don't tighten the minky layer too much. |
Pink around them looks best I think!

I agree with everyone else, pink sashing between the blocks. BTW, it will be lovely either way!!
pink, great looking quilt
Yes, I would put the pink sashing on the quilt. Looks great
I like the sashing!
I like the pink borders around the blocks.
Love the pink very nice quilt
Yup, blocks framed in pink!!
The alternating black and white backgrounds for the hearts really sets this apart  . Very, very nice!!
Your blocks do need to have sashing and a border.
The pink you have chosen is a great color. |
Ask the specific LongArm Quilter who will be doing the work. If in doubt, don't. Using a longer stitch will help if doing it on a regular sewing machine. With the right batting, you won't need the tight detailed quilting that LongARm quilting is prized for. Stick with simple. And YES to the Pink Sashing and Pink Borders.

Borders! I love the added pop of color.
I like the pink sashing.

I love your quilt.....I am a heart lover! I just did a twin sized minkee on the longarm. Make sure to load it with the non stretch side up. It quilts beautifully :-D
I like the sashing between the blocks. Also, I have used minkie as backing and quilted it on my longarm. Just be very carfeul not to stretch the minkie. I also found if you load it with the least stretchy sides on the take up rollers/backing roller it works fine. Good Luck and let me know how it works for you.
Love the pink around the blocks. And yes, you can do minky on a longarm, just do not over tighten when loading and keep the quilting open, not too dense or it will pucker. It is like silk on the back, soft and snuggly.

Pink around the blocks. Looks beautiful

I like the pink around each block. As for the backing, I can't help you on that.
Go with the pink sashing! Great quilt! Ask the longarmers on the board about the minky-would be nice!
I love the pink around the block! I have used Minky on the backs of my quilts since it first came out when nobody had opinions on how to use it and have NEVER had a problem no matter which way I load it. I've put the salvage both ways when loading and found no difference in it. My GK love it.

I also like it with the sashing, but I have sewn with minky before and would never use it for sashing. It is a very slippery fabric and a very stretchy one. I have seen it longarmed, and I have quilted some with my embroidery machine using simple quilting designs. I really love minky, but sewing with it is not my favorite. The end result is worth it, though.

We had problems quilting with minkie on our longarm. I ended up unpicking and starting over with a new back.
wonderful, I love those soft puffy fabrics.
I like the pink around them. My daughter moved to Phoenix last year. She is trying to get started on a quilt with Sea turtles.
I have seen quilts with minkey on the back that have been long arm quilted. Check with your quilter.

our friendship group meets a the home of a long arm quilter and last month she was quilting a quilt that had minky on the back and she did not seem to have any problem with it.
cute quilt by the way. |

The quilt I made for my granddaughter was backed with minky, and the LA quilter did a beautiful job on it....And I like yours better with the sashing. It is adorable.
Love it with pink sashing. Nice job, Grandma!
I like the sashing!
I like them with the pink all around them. Such a pretty quilt.
I like the sashing of pink. The minkie blocks seem to be too big not to have some quilting in them , if nothing more than an X through the middle to anchor them. Remember if you use flannel on the back to wet and dry at least twice, to allow for shrinkage. It is very cute, just love it.

I like the sashing!

Pink around the blocks
I think you have to put a stabilizer on the minky to quilt it on a longarm, which sort of defeats the purpose of putting it in the quilt but if you don't actually want quilting on those blocks, it might be do-able. Ask your long arm quilter if she would be willing to tackle it. As to the pink, I think it looks better with the sashing.
Pink around them. Beautiful !!
I like the sashing around the blocks.
As far as the minkee, my old LQS would use it as backing. In fact, I believe they would offer it as backing for the kids camp projects. It just had to be loaded differently than cotton because it stretches differently. |
I haven't seen any one answer you, I did my last GB quilt with minky on the long arm and it worked out just perfect. I'm sure your LA person will tell you if she won't do it.for whatever reason.

I would like to see brown as border. It would act as a frame for your quilt. It looks cuddly.
