I think that this row is to dark, what do you think?

Do you think it needs border between?

I love the effect and your blocks are stunning! If you think it is too dark, would shifting the blue one to the other side of the red make a difference? It might work out better in that you have an alternate light and dark block? Just a thought.

neece 01-21-2011 05:14 PM

I love it as it is

Lori Peercy 01-21-2011 05:18 PM

What I was talking about is the green. It looks dark when they are placed next to each other, but I think you had a good point about alternating them. Thank you.

Antdebby1 01-21-2011 05:18 PM

It's lovely!

scowlkat 01-21-2011 05:20 PM

I love it just like it is!

moonwork42029 01-21-2011 05:21 PM

I like how the birds match the borders.

KrystelsQuilts 01-21-2011 05:22 PM

I like it :)

maine ladybug 01-21-2011 05:24 PM

I don't think it's too dark, but I would add sashing I think between the blocks.

quiltlady37 01-21-2011 05:27 PM

I really like it without sashing. Neat quilt. Please post a picture when you have it completed.

fleurdelisquilts.com 01-21-2011 05:41 PM

I like the bird fabric in the middle of each block. You've done a great job of drawing attention to them.

Jingle 01-21-2011 05:51 PM

I think it will be beautiful as is. You have done a great job so far. Please show us when you are finished.

Grammy o'5 01-21-2011 05:51 PM

I like it without sashing. The green kinda looks like grass, or tree leaves for the birds. Great blocks!

Willa 01-21-2011 05:58 PM

I like these without sashing also.

carolaug 01-21-2011 06:23 PM

I love the brown one! I also love the green background. The birds are very pretty.

nativetexan 01-21-2011 06:25 PM

i was thinking you could add sashing in between the green. something lighter.

mamaw 01-21-2011 06:28 PM

Have you considered a light sashing in between each block, because the blocks are lovely.

Jaynie 01-21-2011 06:38 PM

NOT!!! I think it is really pretty!

Sadiemae 01-21-2011 06:44 PM

I like it, and I don't like dark quilts.

GrannyW5 01-21-2011 07:18 PM

Very pretty. I made some wall hangings from that bird fabric. It is so nice. I like them without the border.

littlehud 01-21-2011 07:42 PM

I like it. That green makes the colors pop. Great job so far.

skydiver70 01-21-2011 07:46 PM

I love the blocks, especially the way you put the birds in the center. Love the different colors. I think it looks great without the sashing.

franie 01-21-2011 07:53 PM

NO they are not too dark. I love those blocks. Love the birds in the centers. Way too cool.

cjsparks 01-21-2011 08:05 PM

One thing to think about. If you do not add sashing .... will the seams nest or will there be too bulk. If it was my quilt I would add sashing.

cjsparks 01-21-2011 08:05 PM

That should be "too much bulk"

lindyline 01-21-2011 10:42 PM

I like it just as it is. You may want to consider asking the others who will be working on it for some input.

Deb watkins 01-21-2011 11:08 PM

What fabric are you going to bind it with? Perhaps a 1 inch sashing of that fabric between the blocks would work if you think you need just a little block definition. The blocks are nicely done, very attractive.

Jim 01-22-2011 12:44 AM

I like it just as it is I dont think its too dark at all

ranger 01-22-2011 04:46 AM

I LOVE it and wouldn't change a thing.

I'd look for a color that is in all the bird blocks, and try it (them for what color might go for a sashing. I do love these bird blocks. You have done a great job.

quilt3311 01-22-2011 05:18 AM

Thanks for sharing. I have some of the bird fabric and can't decide what to do with it. Now I have an idea.

hobbykat1955 01-22-2011 05:27 AM

I like it...Muted...and I love Muted...not everything has to Pop

marybs 01-22-2011 05:37 AM

stand back and squint- I don't think it is too dark. The light colors around the birds rally keep it bright and light!

champagnebubbles 01-22-2011 05:58 AM

I lie it.

Donna P 01-22-2011 06:31 AM

Great blocks...Love the green

Gramma 01-22-2011 07:48 AM

Like it as is, too.

Nolee 01-22-2011 07:55 AM

I think your blocks are just wonderful but also think you will make it pop more if you take the suggestion of alternating the squares, dark/light. It will bring beautiful contrast, then I'd border it with something lighter in perhaps a subtle marble.

farmquilter 01-22-2011 08:18 AM

I think it is perfect the way it is. You are putting attention on the bird and the block color. Each block makes the bird appear as if it is in a window. Love the green background which is great for a tree effect.

conniebrooks 01-22-2011 08:43 AM

No not too dark I think the Green makes it pop. I like it.
