Kayak on the Lake and the Triple Irish Chain.

My dd is getting the first--she wanted unsymmetrical swirls to represent paddles dipping in the water. I think Jill found the perfect pattern for that.

For the Triple, I wanted calm--and nothing is more calming than the outdoors/nature to me, so I picked a leaves design, but asked her to leave out all the quilting inside the leaves so nothing was tight. She knows what I like-no close quilting. I love it.

Binding for Kayak will match the border. I'm undecided on the Triple... there's really only a few choices: blue or green.

Thanks for looking.

Little blurry--taken at night in low light.

Ooops--I should have removed the thread and lint.

Cool, eh?

Nine flannels make the back (dd always requests flannel backs).

They are beautiful!!! You did a great job and I sure they will be treasured.

BKinCO 03-02-2010 05:57 PM

You do the most gorgeous work!

barnbum 03-02-2010 05:58 PM

I didn't quilt them!! The quilter did!! :-D Her pricing makes it so worth it to not have to do this myself--$144 total for both!

Remember my style? I use paper with a traced on designs and only attempt to mess up baby size tops and wall hangings.

Yes--I emailed these photos to my daughter and she loved it. :-D I let my quilter know. The story behind it is so personal--I didn't want to sell it, but didn't need another quilt. So, I'm very happy/grateful Rach loves it, wants it AND understands the story.

My husband has a kayak, and I have two--one for when he's with me (longer and heavier) and one for when I paddle alone (shorter and lighter  ). Rachel has come with us and used one of mine. She was with us the day I took photos for some research for this top. I posted them last year. She said she doesn't need the quilt now because she has at least three already in her house at college and two home, so I said I'll save it for when she's ready. It has a home. :-D

I can't wait for them both to get houses with many empty walls that need something. And spare bedrooms that need some color... oh the possibilities. :-D
