I was in such a hurry as I am returning to work on Tues after 2 1/2 years, and I wanted to get it done first. Once I start work, I doubt Ill get as much sewing in. They were very appreciative. I had to tell them that it was the same fabric from the wedding. Jeff said "I was pretty busy, I dont know what was behind the trees"..lol but I think they liked it, even though Jeff said he would decorate his whole house in camo if he could....lol |
wowwww...you sure work fast...Nice quilt, very lucky young couple... :D

Judy--that is a really pretty quilt you made. I love the colors-very soft and romantic. The label really makes it special too. You have been a VERY busy girl!!

Gorgeous quilt, great label! I bet you don't want to start another project until you've had time to recover! Good luck on going back to work!

|
I just had a message from Jeff's Mom.
She said they went to visit their Grandma today and all they talked about was the quilt... I guess they like it... Yea! |
So glad they liked it!!! Very pretty Judy!!!
|
How did you do the labels? On your computer and print on cloth?
Lovely quilt! |

What a sweet thing to do for the couple. AND in just a few days too..... WOW  I love it........ GREAT JOB! :D
|
That is a beautiful quilt, and that the couple loved it is the most gratifying feeling. Good Job.
|
WHOA! Did you stop working long enough to turn the smoke alarm off? No, I didn't think so! :D That's a really pretty quilt, and I really like the labels! Great work!
|
very pretty quilt. Love your labels.
|
Judy nice Judy, but all your work is! Glad the couple like it.
|
it would have taken me that long just to baste it.
you GO, girl!!!! (as in ... go make one for me.  ) |
Just beautiful, Judy! I'm in awe, I could never get one done that fast!!!!!
|
Thank you all for your compliments.
But, you see that there are all straight lines, piecing and quilting no triangles.... strip piecing, goes fast.. cross hatching = fewer stops and starts... I am not usually a machine piecer, but there is a time and place for everything, right... No more quilting snobs at my house..lol |

Wow, what a job! I just love that label, beautiful work and fast too. Let me guess you didn't have much warning?
It's funny in a way I keep telling my sister. "two weeks is plenty of time to do a baby quilt" but over and over she doesn't believe me, so I end up doing it in an evening to have it done (and perhaps to prove a point). :D As for the camo, perhaps that's a baby blanket in a year or twelve. :D |
Absolutely gorgeous!!! Perfect colors and the labels just ROCK!! What a special gift, even if it isn't camo LOL You did an awesome and REALLY FAST job!!!
|
So I take it that you only slept on Wednesday? Wow! That was some project and it turned out absolutely lovely. They will love it too.
|
Amazing !!! Did you do the cross-hatch machine quilting on a regular sewing machine? I try, but I really need a lot more practice. How do you get it so well balanced. I'm not really sure how to do the math for spacing, etc.
|
Yes, I did the quilting on my regular sewing machine.
I just sewed diagonally across the squares...no need to measure for spacing, you just aim for the corner of each square. |
