I've been making some I Spy's for several little ones. Some are all done, others need to be sandwiched, quilted and bound. I'm using a minkee type fabric on the back and no batting.

Great quilts!
love those - what a great idea for me to use up lots of my old juvenile fabric that i have had for years (used to make kids stuff with them - fun pillows etc)
How cute are those?! I can't decide which I like best and the children will love them. You are sweet to make them.
Wonderful little quilts!! :D I would say you have been a busy sewer lately. They are going to make perfect gifts for the little one's. Keep up the great work.
:D :D :D :D |
Thanks everyone. These finish about 22-24 inches which makes them perfect to take in the car, to G'mas house, etc. The soft backing makes them nice and cuddly too. I had made one earlier and gave it as a baby shower gift. 19 month old Avery saw it and the light in her eyes just melted Gram--so I got started and am having trouble quitting! I'm thinking of piecing ahead several tops and then when the need arises all's I have to do is quilt and bind.

Love how cute they are!
Those are all so great and each one is unique. Please tell me you have put your name and date on the back of each one so kids will know when you dd them. :-)

I Spy's are so much fun for the kids and just as much fun to collect the fabrics and make. Thanks for the idea of going for the mini squares and little items. That is a great idea for the older kids who might find the larger squares too easy!!!
Hugs and happy spying. |
Super cute...they are all lovely.
These are adorable!! They are going to love them :D:D:D

 ! I know I really should and it won't take long. When I see them all together in the pics, the more I like the 9 patch with the I Spy sashings and cornerstones. Think I will make more like that one. |

I'm so bad at labels! Are you trying to guilt me into it

Think I will make more like that one.
LOL If you want to see a bad label, I should show you the one I put on my DGD's quilt. Since my shoulder and neck injury and the fibro, I have lost my fine hand at embroidery and it looks like crap, BUT, she loves it because I did it and it's for her. label on DGD's quilt |
Well Linda--I'll take one just like it but change the last name! I usually don't even bother with a label, but have started to do them on the doll quilt swap quilts.
Wildyard- your label is great. It was done by you with your special touch and that makes it the best label ever. No apologies. I can see why she loves it!
Great variety.
Sure to bring lots of fun & smiles |
