I've been making some I Spy's for several little ones. Some are all done, others need to be sandwiched, quilted and bound. I'm using a minkee type fabric on the back and no batting.

love those - what a great idea for me to use up lots of my old juvenile fabric that i have had for years (used to make kids stuff with them - fun pillows etc)

AnnaK 11-21-2010 11:19 PM

How cute are those?! I can't decide which I like best and the children will love them. You are sweet to make them.

SulaBug 11-22-2010 12:02 AM

Wonderful little quilts!! :D I would say you have been a busy sewer lately. They are going to make perfect gifts for the little one's. Keep up the great work.
:D :D :D :D

oksewglad 11-22-2010 08:15 AM

Thanks everyone. These finish about 22-24 inches which makes them perfect to take in the car, to G'mas house, etc. The soft backing makes them nice and cuddly too. I had made one earlier and gave it as a baby shower gift. 19 month old Avery saw it and the light in her eyes just melted Gram--so I got started and am having trouble quitting! I'm thinking of piecing ahead several tops and then when the need arises all's I have to do is quilt and bind.

KarenR 11-22-2010 07:19 PM

Love how cute they are!

SandyinZ4 11-22-2010 07:24 PM

Those are all so great and each one is unique. Please tell me you have put your name and date on the back of each one so kids will know when you dd them. :-)

I Spy's are so much fun for the kids and just as much fun to collect the fabrics and make. Thanks for the idea of going for the mini squares and little items. That is a great idea for the older kids who might find the larger squares too easy!!!
Hugs and happy spying.

earthwalker 11-22-2010 07:31 PM

I'm so bad at labels! Are you trying to guilt me into it
 ! I know I really should and it won't take long.
When I see them all together in the pics, the more I like the 9 patch with the I Spy sashings and cornerstones. Think I will make more like that one.

LOL If you want to see a bad label, I should show you the one I put on my DGD's quilt. Since my shoulder and neck injury and the fibro, I have lost my fine hand at embroidery and it looks like crap, BUT, she loves it because I did it and it's for her.

oksewglad 11-23-2010 07:46 PM

Well Linda--I'll take one just like it but change the last name! I usually don't even bother with a label, but have started to do them on the doll quilt swap quilts.

SandyinZ4 11-23-2010 07:56 PM

Wildyard- your label is great. It was done by you with your special touch and that makes it the best label ever. No apologies. I can see why she loves it!

lpsewing 11-23-2010 08:03 PM
