I am planning this oriental quilt using some panels. But, didn't know quite what kind of borders to use. Then one day I was looking on e-bay and found this pattern. I think these blocks would go great as a border. Sort of makes me think of lotus blossoms. What do you think. It was a vintage pattern.
Here is the panel I am going to use and the focus fabric. I have about 12 of the blossoms made so far. They are all stitched by hand. Can't imagine doing them on a machine. What do you think??

I love your idea and fabrics, but your lotus block doesn't look like it is going to lay FLAT ! ! Looks really wavey in the picture, like you may have stretched the edges.

You've made some lovely things. Your Japanese lady is beautiful! I like the flower block, but it needs some work.
I have to offer some constructive criticism, you have ripples in the top part of the block that will have to be dealt with before you put it in to a quilt. Otherwise quilting it won't be a happy experience.

The green and yellow in the block you made goes perfectly with the colors/texture in the panel.
