Idle time coloring
1 Attachment(s)
I have this pattern called Surprisingly Red that is, obviously, in reds. :-) I want one in browns and blues for my living room. I have the fabric already and I'm chomping at the bit to work on it but I have two other quilts in the queue that I need to do as gifts.
Just using MS Paint and picking up the colors of the fabrics to color in the major parts to see how it will look. I really like it! |
Pam............those color's are going to be gorgeous together. I think you have done a great job picking them out. I hope that you will keep sharing pictures with us, as you get started.

This will be fabulous. Please post as you go when you start it.

Love your color choices and envy your talent and bravery to do that beautiful pattern. I could only dream! I have a collection of browns and blues that I have gathered over a year that I want MY quilt made from. Pattern pending!

Terrific colors, and neat pattern! Looking forward to seeing your future progress~:)
That will be such a striking quilt - I don't know if I could wait to start it!
One of the quilts is pretty quick and easy. All the fabric is washed and ready, torn into strips a tad wider than I will be cutting so I don't have to wrestle with huge pieces to cut. The Japanese fans are in progress and the center is framed and squared. The second quilt is a little more involved, this one http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...r-t220119.html but I don't think it will be very hard to do either. I just want them out of the way so I can really concentrate on mine.
I love this pattern too! Lovely colour choices! I'm sure it will turn out absolutely gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing Judy Niemeyer's pattern in your colour choice. Can't wait! :)

Love the colors. Reminds me of the mariner's compass in the Elm Creek Quilt book. Someday i'll be a confident enougj piecer for something like that. Not yet though.
I also want to see this beauty when done!
I'm in love with that fabric! It's going to be spectacular!
I love the quilt pattern and your Color choices are awesome. I'm really curious about how you used MS Paint to do your mock up with the different colors.
It is going to be beautiful
Your color selections are fabulous. I think the pattern is so awesome and looks difficult and time consuming, but well worth every moment you put into it. I can hardly wait to see the results.
I saved the picture of the quilt from the pattern to a black and white one. Have the picture on your screen, right click, Save As... I opened it with Windows Live Photo Gallery and at the top it has "Edit, organize, or share". Select "Effects" at the top... Black and White.
Open it in MS Paint and pasted the pictures of the fabric on the side. I get the fabric pictures online when I order by doing a right click on the fabric on my screen and doing a Save As... or just do Copy and then Paste it. I then use the Eye Dropper tool to pick up the color in a fabric and then use the line tool, pencil tool, paint brush tool, or circle tool. It's not the quickest way to do it but, it's just something to do while idle, watching TV, etc. To paste in the focal fabric I used the Select tool, outlined an area on the fabric, then copied and pasted it onto the quilt. |
It should be beautiful.
can't wait to see the finished product. beautiful colors
