then anyone can! I made my first bow tuck :XD: and it turned out looking like a purse, I am so thrilled! Just to show you how much of a novice I am, it was my first time sewing on a button ! And I finally did it! It took longer than I thought it would, and I had a problem with sewing on the handles on the wrong side that when I tuned the purse right side out the handles were buried in it (silly me) so I unsewed and redid that, but other than that I thought it was pretty clear what to do. Of course there were steps that I had to read like 10 times to get it, but hopefully it is all a learning experience. My husband walked home from work and shrieked "Wow' when he saw my bow tuck sitting on the table  It feels good!

So all of you still wondering if you could make a bow tuck, yes you can!

Great job. I really like your fabric choices. I haven't made the bow tuck yet, but did a tote bag that I love. I think they are lots of fun to make.

It came out great! Good for you for starting (and finishing) this.

Good job. I read through the pattern/instructions last night. That alone intimidated me. I was hoping that it would be easier once I was actually doing it. Haven't had the courage to start yet.

I read over the instructions once or twice before I started and I couldn't tell heads from tails and had no clue what I was supposed to do. I still went for it though, and made sure I am understanding every steps before proceeding. It worked! I say go for it

lawsonmugs 06-30-2010 07:47 AM

yours turned out so cute. I love the summer look to it. My pattern came last week.after seeing so many cute different fabrics I made 1 then #2 now #3 is almost done. I'm making some for birthday and christmas gifts for the end of the year. The first time you do anything is the hardest. now that one is done you have a idea what your doing,(and not doing). good luck on the next one. and enjoy that's what this is all about.

Bubblegum0077 06-30-2010 11:26 AM

Very nice color selection. Where can I get the pattern? I was thinking of making a few totes and looked at some McCalls patterns, but it did look intimidating and I am not new to sewing. I will definitely try this. In fact I even like the one from Denise B's avatar. Denise where did you get your pattern?

Happy Quilting and Sewing
