This is Chekamus Canyon inspired by a photo my son took while climbing in the area last summer. He found it really hard to come home again. 40x24

Wow! You should do a video tutorial!
Spectacular. Are you going to enter it in Quilt Canada next year?
So absolutely stunning. I find your work amazing. We live in mountainous country and see that layering in the rocks and you have made your interpretation just perfect. I also think your interpretation of the running river water is so real.
Can almost hear the water when I look at that!
Amazing! What a fabulous job you've done. It is wonderful.
.
I just went to MaryKatherine's blog post, and it shows every step of making this amazing quilt. What a wonderful thing to share! Thank you Mary Katherine. |
Beautiful and life-like!
WOW is that beautiful.
That's undecided. I'm considering my Bears instead. :o
Beautiful work, especially on the water.
You are very talented, Mary Katherine ... this landscape quilt is absolutely beautiful. I, too, enjoy making landscape wall art (and have posted a couple on this Q Bd). I wonder if you might share with me your technique for creating "individual" trees? Are they thread painted? Oh, how I wish that I could zoom in on this wonderful piece of art work:o Kudos to you ... I look forward to seeing more of your quilted landscapes, as you are an inspiration.

Go for it ... if you are allowed..... |
Each one is separate $. But quite frankly the landscape isn't really big enough for their liking, at least that's my impression from the last few shows I've attended. (And in reality this piece is nothing out of the ordinary as far as quilt shows go.)
Amazing! Makes me want to go there. Also, to take classes from you!
What a magnificent reproduction of a truly awesome natural scene. Has your son seen your quilt yet? I bet it takes his breath away.:o
WOW!! It does actually look real. How will you ever get anything else done while you have this gem to gaze upon?
Wow!!!
That is truly beautiful!! Kirsten |
Gorgeous! I wouldn’t want to come home either. You did a great job of interpreting the image.
