I wish I would have thought to do something like that with my Dad's shirts, I wish I had been a part of this board before I lost him and maybe would have gotten the idea. Your quilt is so awesome.

I love the first one. It is paper piecing, right? You have given me an idea to do something with all my octogons that I do while watching tv!
Great job!

Wow, I love the first one, the colours really pop. I love the design to, I like working with plaids and checks, I think they are among my favourite fabric patterns to use. Thanks for sharing, your quilts are great especially the first one, you have given me some wonderful ideas.

Yes it's the English paper piecing. I used cereal boxes for my templetes. I used about a 4 1/2" hexigon. I found the cardboard really made them stiff and easy to sew together. I just sewed the flowers all together and pressed them with the card board left inside of them. After I pressed I just poped out the card board templetes and reused them.

I can just imagine all the hugs that were given while those flannel shirts were worn. Is there any better hug than one given by a guy wearing a flannel shirt? (Ok, maybe a man in a sweater is a close second.)
