Finally I'm feeling brave enough to post some pictures of my quilts.

The 1st one is the first quilt I ever made. I call it "all the men in my life" because it is made with flannel shirst of my Dad, Hubby, Brothers and both Grandpas.

The 2nd one is the one I made for a Christmas present for my nephew Corey.

I call it Redneck 4-patch

Nice work on both! It's neat that you could use all the men's shirts for the first one!

Wow I love your work!!! That first one is fun and you did such a nice job using plaids! Thanks so much for posting and being brave...you should be very proud :-D

KatFish 10-15-2010 09:04 AM

Thanks for all your kind words.

The GFG quilt was the 1st quilt I made. I picked the design because I didn't have a sewing machine yet and the hand sewing looked easy. I hand quilted it and it won 1st place at the fair this year.

My nephews quilt is tied. I decided that I wan't going to put all my time in quilting it because it's just going to end up in a tangled lump at the foot of the bed anyway. LOL My nephew never makes his bed.

I like all your "plaids". Wish I had thought of that with all my Dad's soft shirts before he died and I gave them away.

Ditter43 10-15-2010 04:40 PM

I love your "men" quilt!! It has a lot of special meaning! I bet Corey will love his quilt!!! Good job!! :D

quilttiludrop 10-15-2010 04:41 PM

I like the use of the plaids! Great quilts!

merrylouw 10-15-2010 04:43 PM

The first one looks like an heirloom already. Good job on both quilts!

oldswimmer 10-15-2010 04:47 PM

Wow, I think they are both really cool. Love the flannel flowers!

noveltyjunkie 10-15-2010 04:49 PM

Lovely idea. I am laughing because all your men have compatible shirts- in our family there would be office shirts, farmer's work shirts, threadbare shirts (the one who throws nothing out) and some fairly "out there" metrosexual prints. Would be QUITE a patchwork!!

littlehud 10-15-2010 06:06 PM

Those are both great quilts. I love the Grandmothers Flower garden. What a great memory quilt. Thanks for sharing.

wvdek 10-15-2010 06:09 PM

JCL in FL 10-16-2010 01:14 PM

I love quilts with meaning. You can spend oodles on material but the ones that have all the charm, have a story. Good work on them both.

theresa.redington 10-16-2010 02:27 PM

So are you hooked? Love the first quilt for the men in your life. What a great idea!

bejay28 10-16-2010 02:34 PM
