I'm on a mission!

5 Attachment(s)
My goal is to make 31 lap quilts by Christmas. I have 4 1/2 tops done and ready to quilt. I have one more scattered geese border, that's what I have been calling it, to put on the 5th quilt. Two of these 5 quilts are my design, the triangles and the exploding lonestar.

I have a long way to go around working 50+ hours a week but this is what I love to do. Wish me luck. Now to get the batting loaded onto my frame so I can get these babies quilted.

Love em! Good luck with your lofty goal!

Nice quilts! I really love the jagged border on your lone star....is there a name for it?

Mousie 06-02-2019 07:41 PM

I believe it can be done, just not by me. I'm rooting for you fatsewcat!!!

bearisgray 06-03-2019 01:10 AM

Your "scattered geese" and exploding star are my favorite! How fun. Don't burn yourself out. That's a lot of quilts you're shooting for!

Inquiring minds want to know why 31? That’s a lot of quilts but you sound like a gal with a mission. We look forward to seeing more of your projects...I love the colorful triangle quilt.

juliasb 06-03-2019 02:51 AM

I think I will be paying a lot of attention to your Exploding Lone Star! The persons that you gift these quilts to are very special to receive these beauties.

sahansen44 06-03-2019 03:04 AM

That's like 3 quilts a month... wow...good luck. Love all your fabric choices

toverly 06-03-2019 03:08 AM

Wow, you go for it! I set a yearly goal to finish one quilt a month. But most of the tops are ufo's. So it's really just sandwiching them and doing it. All's well so far. I'm on to July. Love the first one. A great black and white with one bright color.

sinceresissy 06-03-2019 03:09 AM

Nice looking quilts. I like them all. Good Luck on your mission.

SillySusan 06-03-2019 03:12 AM

Wow! They are all beautiful! What a lofty goal! You have one little old lady here who will be cheering you on! :)

pocoellie 06-03-2019 04:00 AM

Wow!! You've done a wonderful job on them. You have set quite a goal to have done by Christmas, I wish you tons of luck.

granky 06-03-2019 05:06 AM

Sheesh! I want to know why 31 too! 31 grandchildren???? 31 days in your birth month???? 31 ladies in your guild????

Judith1005 06-03-2019 05:21 AM

Oh my, you don't make it easy on yourself, do you?! It looks like your off to a great start though. They are looking awesome. Good Luck to you, I hope you accomplish what you'd like to.

Homespun 06-03-2019 05:25 AM

Wow, a great start. All are so pretty.

dunster 06-03-2019 07:05 AM

I suspect there are going to be 31 very lucky people at Christmas this year. Beautiful quilts.

Jordan 06-03-2019 07:31 AM

Love all of your quilts and WOW you have sure been busy sewing. I especially like the one with flying geese in border. How did you do the two different sided borders to your FG? Is there a reason for 31 quilts? What a busy mission you are on.

Painiacs 06-03-2019 07:54 AM

Wow!! Can't wait to see all the others!!!

MicheleC 06-03-2019 09:25 AM

All your tops are fabulous! I particularly like the lone star and red, black, and white ones. Good luck completing your goal!

sprice 06-03-2019 09:41 AM

All are wonderful. I love the colors in the 2nd one.

SuziSew 06-03-2019 11:56 AM

you must be busy sewing. When you get time for a peek or to post pics,
let us know it's you, Mission #31 and we'll root you on!

Jingle 06-03-2019 12:52 PM

Very pretty quilts. Just keep going and you should be able to meet your goal.

redquilter 06-03-2019 05:09 PM

These are all amazing. You do beautiful work. I, too, am curious - why 31? I wish you luck in your mission.

There are 31 family members on my husbands mom’s side that I have wanted to make quilt for for a long time and it seems that something else always got in the way. So I have decided this is the year I want to get them done. 17 adults / 14 kids. The kids quilts will come first if I start getting down to the wire. 4 of them are done (posted), 2 1/2 of the kids are cut out. All fabric is accounted.

I love the quilts shown! You have a great eye for using color and fabric in a terrific way! The black, red, and white quilt is stupendous, but all are beautiful!
