so if it's quilt as you go, does that mean that the embroidery is in all 3 layers? now you just put them together? it is beautiful, dainty, an oh so feminine!

Esqmommy 10-14-2009 06:28 AM

Really pretty...how do you put them together? Do they look like a rag quilt in the back? I have a hard time comprehending the quilt as you go concept.

pam1966 10-14-2009 06:33 AM

Your work is beautiful. I have an off topic question. Is your avitar Topo Gego (sp) from the Ed Sullivan show?

Shandy 10-14-2009 04:38 PM

Thanks everyone. It's really a fun and challenging project. As to how many layers, etc. , you embroider on the top and batting, and then you add the backing and do the quilting through all layers. I'm still learning as I go about this, but the book is very good.

If you want to see more information, I think the website is www.infinityquilt.com.au

Janome put it together as a kit with the book, the CD, and the special rulers that are really neat. It was pricey though, but I got it as a birthday present.

Yes, that's Topo Gigio from Ed. Sullivan. It was the only time I got to stay up late on Sunday nights, when little Topo was on, or the performing elephants. That, my dears, was a very long time ago:)

Eddie........keees me good night? Topo was so very cute.

I love it! How large are your blocks? Can't wait to see the finished quilt!

Shandy 10-14-2009 06:55 PM

The blocks finish, I think at 15 inches square, and 12 of them surround a large centre panel that I've just started working on......
