Infinity Quilt
4 Attachment(s)
My SIL requested a special quilt. The wishes were purple, simple with no flowers and an infinity symbol somehow used. As I was leaving, she trust a pair of worn fleece pajama bottoms at me. Her dad died recently and she really misses him. Could I somehow incorporate these pajamas into the quilt? It took me a while to come up with a design. I found a tutorial on utube for the infinity part, but because of the size request, I had to make four of them and join it. I chose a batik purple and contrasting grays for the stripes. The use of the pajamas took a little longer to figure out. I decided to make machine hearts and made a row of them. It feels kind of soft with the fleece hearts. I forgot to take a picture, but I did make her matching large pillows to tie it all in. It was a big hit and she cried when she saw it.

Lovely quilt and your quilting is fantastic!

I can see why she cried, and was so pleased with it as are you. It turned out beautifully. You inspired me to keep in mind using some fabric I cut out of my parents clothes after they passed away. I will be able to use some of it for maybe a special pillow for myself and my two sisters.
Also, your quilting is very nice. Thank you for sharing this. |
That is such a nice creative use of the pajamas. When I was reading, I had a flash of asking"how on earth is she going to do that?"
