I shouldn't be surprised, after being on this list for so long, but you never cease to amaze me. I would have never thought to use the tumbling block like that! Brilliant!!!

ChildoftheUniverse 08-07-2011 06:39 AM

This is a great idea for a theme quilt... thanks... I'm putting this in my memory bank (or what's left of my memory bank - seems to be shrinking of late!) :-D

How cute!

hudgoddess 08-07-2011 07:46 AM

Love the theme! How about using your scraps for the back. I'm really into using all the leftovers in kind of modern designs on the back. It can be seriously random!

nannya54 08-07-2011 09:00 AM

Nicely done. The fussy cut it spot on! Great job.

grannypat7925 08-07-2011 09:00 AM

Bet she will love it! Looks great from here!

Your quilt is really pretty. I love the tumbler block. Love the Wizard of Oz. You gave me an idea---my daughter loves I Love Lucy. I think I might have to borrow your idea, and get some Lucy fabric and make her one.

LLWinston44 08-07-2011 06:31 PM

That is SO cute!!! I somehow always end up fussy cutting. I hate to do it, but I love fabric that shows best when you do it! Lol. I LOVE LOVE LOVE what you did with it!!!

charlotte37830 08-07-2011 10:05 PM

I'm generally not fond of the tumbler block quilt, but I love this one. But then, I've never seen one made this way either.

QM 08-07-2011 10:18 PM

Very good job.

If you are trying to use up scraps, a "lasagne" backing would work. Thats where you use a strip until you run out of it, then add another, all in layers like a lasagne. It is not fancy, but uses a bunch of scrap strips.

wanda lou 08-07-2011 10:33 PM

very cute.

tsp3400 08-08-2011 06:14 AM

Not sure if this was mentioned but why not do a row or 2 in some scrap yellow fabrics in the YBR pattern to break the back up a bit.

buckeyed 08-08-2011 06:16 AM

What a great gift!!

blueangel 08-08-2011 08:11 AM

My thought exactly! You took the words right out of my mouth! Red bedroom slippers along with it is such an excellent idea too!!

LLWinston44 08-09-2011 08:04 PM

Cute idea to add slippers!!

carolaug 08-11-2011 01:34 PM

I went to go buy the yellow brick road...Mistake...I ended up buying the flowers that they fell asleep in (and a bunch of other fabric for future quits)...and will add it as a border. I could not find the yellow bring road except in a panel so I think I will use the dog prints and the yellow pieces of brinks and use that for the binding. One the back I think I will use Muslim and applique some flowers on the back using some of the prints I have left over. Oh...and I love the idea of giving her slippers with this quilt!
