Oh that is just so awesome you have to give it to her!!! She will show it to all her new friends in college and every day it will help to give her the 'home base' she needs to face all her new responsibilities and challenges.

I agree with most, blue on the sashing. I think the outer border should incorporate all the colors too. Please share when finished!

Just love it, great job and thank you for sharing, Black Have a Blessed day Ellen

I love your bright colors. I have no opinion on the sashing. Trust your judgement. Obviously you have a great color eye. Make the niece a quilt in her new college colors!
|
I'd probably sash it with my niece's favorite color - finish it up for her then get busy on one for you.

Gorgeous. I know it is sometimes hard to give something away when you really like it. I am having the same dilemna with a quilt that I am making for my daughter.
|
Love your colors!! What fun you had making all the PP stars. Whoever gets will enjoy it.

I wanted to learn paper-piecing so I found a bunch of "star" patterns (mostly at Quilters Cache) and just kept going. I love the rainbow brightness of the quilt. I'm trying to decide if I should sash them with a dark blue (like nighttime), or black (to make them really pop), or use a variety of the solids I used in the star blocks. This was going to be a graduation gift for one of my nieces who has rec'd a scholarship to play Div A Soccer in college (she's our "star"), but I love it so much, I may not be able to part with it!:D |
I love it too! I'd use the multicolors cut on the diagonal for the binding after the quilt is assembled and quilted.

Love it, great job and love the colors
