    Introducing "Starshine & Rainbows"!

This is the first time I've posted any of my work -- I hope you like it

I wanted to learn paper-piecing so I found a bunch of "star" patterns (mostly at Quilters Cache) and just kept going. I love the rainbow brightness of the quilt. I'm trying to decide if I should sash them with a dark blue (like nighttime), or black (to make them really pop), or use a variety of the solids I used in the star blocks.

This was going to be a graduation gift for one of my nieces who has rec'd a scholarship to play Div A Soccer in college (she's our "star"), but I love it so much, I may not be able to part with it!

I love this. I can see why you can't part with it. Keep it. Any color you use will be beautiful. I think I would pick up a color from the quilt to sash . IMHO

I'd do maybe 6" sections of each color you used in the quilt, sewn together, for the border, but instead of straight cuts, maybe do a diagonal cut for each one -- it would 'highlight' your beautiful stars. Gorgeous!

Beautiful blocks! I would go with the dark blue sashing, keeping with the existing colors. That's just me, though.

Absolutely beautiful and bright, I would choose a dark color out of it for the sashes.

Wow, those are pretty blocks! I would pick one of the colours from the quilt for the sashing. If your keeping it, pick your favorite colour, if your niece is getting it pick her favorite colour.

Pretty awesome quilt~ I too would sash with the blue, possibly with the darkest one in the top. Then I would bind it with strips of all the colors you've used. This is pretty cool and you did a great job!

It's beautiful! I think I'd choose the dark blue for sashing and binding, just so it wouldn't detract from the stars and get too busy. I don't see any black in the blocks, so not sure that would even be a choice for me. You did a great job!

Paper piecing is fun, but can be time-consuming, too. I have a box I'm keeping my "tests" in, so hope eventually to make them into something...only two so far. lol
Being skinny isn't easy, so I gave up and opted for being sexy instead. (aunty acid)

Wow - this is just wonderful - all those colors, and such a variety of stars. One of these blocks is my avatar - I turned the block into a wall clock ....
