I started a sewing studio after I retired and took my "living room" so I would have more space.

Bailey's mom 03-31-2010 04:09 AM

That is beautiful and so organized!

wvdek 03-31-2010 04:10 AM

May you have many enjoyable hours sewing in it.

bkb 03-31-2010 04:12 AM

Sew much space!! Maybe some day I can be sew lucky!

stitchinwitch 03-31-2010 05:46 AM

Nice space - but what do you use for a living room now?

kkbrand 03-31-2010 06:11 AM

Simply lovely I am envious!

mamaw 03-31-2010 07:21 AM

Very nicely done. I like that it is so neat...and also the wall color is very pretty too!

Marjpf 03-31-2010 08:18 AM

Great space. Lots of natural light. Lots of room to spread out. Now how can I talk my family into letting me take over the living room?

craftiladi 03-31-2010 08:20 AM

Oh so nice to have all that rm.So nicely organized too.Congrats on being able to spread out.
Since my other half still has to work in a state other then the one we are buying our house in, I am here almost all the time by myself I have been toying w/ the idea of taking over the family rm.
Heres my thinking:
1] we would be forced to use the front living rm.-thats ok.
2] I could set-up the family rm into such a nice sewing space, did I mention it has bulit ins & a fireplace.
3] I would have to give up my sunny front window that I have in my current sewing rm.
4]The Fam. Rm is right off the dining/kitchen-no closing off the mess and it would be fair game for the pets.
5] but oh the space i could have....hmm same issues that I had when I was considering moving downstairs...darn it.
I will just have to live through your beautiful rm...enjoy for me lol.

rootyr 03-31-2010 08:23 AM

Wonderful!

canmitch1971 03-31-2010 09:56 AM

It looks very nice.

sewmama 03-31-2010 10:08 AM

Thank you ladies for all your nice comments. I will add a little more information for you. My old sewing room was up-stairs so when I started my sewing business I needed to have it accessible for my clients. I had to do some juggling of furniture. My den is where I put my living room furniture. I had to give some chairs away and put my piano in my dining room but the most important thing was getting my sewing room. I had my sewing furniture made in Canada (just across the river) I have been eyeballing my den as I'm running out of space again in my sewing room. lol We could always watch t.v. out on the deck.....

Jim's Gem 03-31-2010 01:40 PM

Very nice, large space!!!

AnnaK 03-31-2010 03:14 PM

I'm so jealous. I have a 9 x10 room that is half office, half sewing room. I basically have a sewing desk!

Kathy N 03-31-2010 03:14 PM

WOW Can I come sew with you?????

Lockeb 03-31-2010 03:17 PM

What a wonderful space to work. I hope it brings you great success too. I love how you have organized it. Now lets see it what you create next!

littlehud 04-02-2010 06:37 PM

What a cool sewing studio. I love the way you have it organized. Thanks for sharing.

dlb0526 04-03-2010 08:33 PM

You could make a curtain to close off the family room> just a thought. If I had the house to myself then I would take what room I want after discussing it with hubby. Happy sewing

dee :-D

Irish Jan 04-04-2010 05:57 PM

so neat and clean... I could never move my bedroom sewing room to living room - hard to keep it clean and organized. yours is great. I really like the sewing table with room for three machines - that is what I need..

shopaholic97 04-08-2010 05:36 PM

I am so envious!!! I have a beautiful space but have filled it so much that it is just depressing so perhaps if I take over another part of the house it might all work out

charvan 04-09-2010 04:23 AM

Great sewing room! Hope you have much success in your business and enjoy that beautiful room.

Ilovemydogs 04-09-2010 12:06 PM

I love looking at everyone's sewing rooms! Everyone seems to have more thread than I do!!
