An Irish Chain
1 Attachment(s)
as mentioned in an earlier thread, I managed to crank out a pile of quilts for a friend to give to her grandchildren on Christmas. I didn't get photos of all of them, but this is one of the three Irish Chain quilts I made. Two were from these fabrics. The other one was made using a fabric with puppies printed on it.
she has ten grandsons. I only managed to get nine quilts done altogether. (The oldest grandson will just have to wait until his birthday. LOL) Many, many thanks, again, to my friend, Debbie. She quilted them all for me or I'd never have gotten any of them done by Christmas. |
oh how Cute! I love those fabrics- the animal blocks are so cute and the coordinates are perfect. getting 9 or the 10 done was quite an accomplishment. :)

Great job, I love the fabric!!!!!
Great pattern for those fabrics.
great looking quilt-great warm cozy colors
Interesting variation on IC, I have only ever seen them done with 9P blocks. I have never seen one done with 4P blocks. Great kids quilt with the animals but definitely am amused at the panda bear as well. Its all good, I am doing an African print quilt right now and snuck in some tiger strip material. Now I know there are as many tigers in Africa as there are Panda bears but it looks good. LOL

Creative quilting geography! :)

How sweet this quilt is! I can't believe you were able to make so many in such a short amount of time. I am so jealous. I am so SLOW!
Haha. Yeah, not so sure about pandas in Africa... :) This is so cute and I'm sure the kids loved them. And getting 9 quilts done around the holiday season - very impressive!
Great job !! How did you ever pull this off ??? You & your quilter friend deserve a day at the spa.
this will work for my Rain Forest fabric, thanks.
Again you and your friend Debbie are a fabulous duo! Love your quilts!
What a very cute quilt. Nicely done.
very nicely done!!!!
Beautiful! And thanks for inspiring me on making a baby quilt that I need to get done!
I don't know how you managed to piece so many quilts on such notice; congrats for doing it. Have you caught up on lost sleep yet?
All VERY CUTE!! Love the fabric especially in the first with the 4-patch and cute print. IC is one of my favorite patterns, and hope to get one made--someday!
Looks like you have been very busy and that you are very good to your family. Thanks for sharing, Patrice. Quilt hugz, Mariah |
Kool quilts. I think that this pattern is in my future. Brendak

Wow, you did well to have 9 finished.
Love that quilt, too.
Awesome!!! Beautiful!!!
if i had tried to use a different block set and layout for each quilt, i'd probably still be working on them. LOL
i saved time by not measuring and calculating carefully to use only the precise amount of fabric needed. i just grabbed fabrics that went together and that i had lots of. i also employed strip and chain piecing. needless to say, i have a nice little pile of leftover pieces. LOL i don't have a clue yet what i'll do with them, but pillows or pillow cases are not out of the question. these kids do have birthdays, after all. LOL |
Cute quilt.....
I like the quilt, but I especially like your quilting. That is just how I do it, and I haven't seen a lot of other people do it that way. It's just so much fun to go buzzing around and around, making all those circles. I really enjoy it.
