Irish Chain using Two Fabrics
2 Attachment(s)
Well, two fabrics plus one for the border!
A few days ago AngeliaNR posted her Carolina Chain and I was going to make it, liked the same fabric used in the blocks. today someone posted the chain pattern using large squares and 9-patch. I made this using some fabric I've had for a while and didna't know what to do with this beautiful focus pattern. Wish I had more, I'd make a full bed quilt, I think it would be striking. This was done using 9-1/2" focus fabric blocks, and 9-patch made from 4-1/2" astrips. Thanks for looking. |
Beautiful love the colors. One of these days I will make one like this. I hope mine turns out as lovely as yours. BrendaK

Makes a beautiful pattern.
Great quilt, like the fabric choice.
Beautiful! I never would have thought to use a print as the focus in that pattern. I'll have to try that since it came out so pretty.
that fabric is so lush - doing much more would be wild! Looks like you did a really nice job piecing.
Oh my gosh how pretty, thanks for the close up. Love the print fabric.
Thanks for posting your quilt. I have a focus fabric has been laying around for several years and I keep thinking I should do something with it. This has given me an inspiration how to use it. I really enjoy reading your mystery train quilts and seeing all the different quilts.

This beautiful and bold print works how wonderfully with this pattern.
Love this-great pattern for those fabrics we love and don't want to cut up too much!

Great, very dramatic......what size did it end up.....how much focus fab did you start with? I have some wild stuff...this might work for it...thanks for inspiration!
Yes, I bought this same fabric at JoAnn's for a stack and whack quilt. I think they still have the fabric, but second batch of it and it is not quite as nice and silky as the first batch.

Beautiful focal fabric. I can see why you wished you had more. Lovely.
WOW, it's gorgeous. I love the floral print, it's beautiful. Often a gorgeous fabric like that lends itself to more basic blocks, like the 9-patch.
