Patti, I think that means that Mel doesn't want it, but she wants you to send it to me!

Oh sorry Gai...I'm absolutely sure that it means she'll just let it stay here

And K...those cats are just some "laid back" babes!!! Tell Hans I'm sure they are fine (actually I bet they were high on Greenies and just passed out)

Um, maybe I should have made myself a little more clear.... SEND IT ON HOME!!! I bet it wins something in the fair in September - I WILL finish it in time, I promise!

I know, it looks fantastic, eh?!

sandpat 07-22-2010 08:25 AM

Hmmmm....thinking about it.........well, oooookkkkk....if you insist....

Actually, she is all snuggled into her box and almost ready to go. Mel..since I'm putting it in a flat rate...I'm going to send you all the leftovers from the outer border. If you don't want them..then toss 'em, but I thought maybe you would like them for something on the back or a little pillow...or whatever..just thought maybe you could use them. She will head out your way tomorrow.

And I'm pretty sure she will win something at the fair...I can't wait to see this one quilted!

sandpat 07-22-2010 10:52 AM

Thank you ma'am....I can only take credit for poking and prodding a few...everyone did spectacular work this year and it does show in the quilts...they are amazing!

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 07-29-2010 07:12 AM

I got my quilt back, Patti!

What a relief!!! WooHoo!!!! Another baby home all safe and sound. It is a beauty Mel...now I really can't wait to see that one finished. Fair...here it comes...just toss the "blue ribbon" Mel's way!!

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 08-23-2010 09:19 AM

Ok, *sigh*
I have to send out an apology here, I am a full week behind :( Life TOTALLY got in my way this summer...
I am almost finished this last round, but I ran out of one of my border fabrics, that is SO frustrating!!!! I'm only missing a tiny amount too, so I'm going to get it today and it will be finished and in the mail tomorrow, I PROMISE!!!

sandpat 08-23-2010 05:12 PM

Mel...I think you have a pretty darn good (and cute) excuse this year! I'm actually so proud that you stayed on track like you did...you did a wonderful job and to have had such a cute baby on top of everything else!! Wow!!

sandpat 09-02-2010 06:42 PM

Mel...did you get that quilt in the mail and did you happen to snap a pic of it??

I'm trying to figure out where all the quilts are at this point...only JoeAnne's and mine aren't home yet from this group....

Oh..how's the quilting coming on your's? I really loved that one!

annieshane 09-02-2010 06:44 PM

There is certainly no looser in this group. Would not want to have to choose a "winner" if this were required. Such fantastic work!!!

AnnaK 09-02-2010 06:44 PM

What beautiful quilts y'all are making!

Baren*eh*ked_canadian 09-03-2010 05:36 AM

Ya it's mailed, I forgot to post pics, I'm about to do that right now in the 'finished quilts' thread.

I haven't finished quilting mine yet, bleh, but I have a bit of time to do it before the fair. TOOOO many things came up this month, plus I'm hosting an IRR elsewhere... Anyway, I decided to quilt a simple meandering pattern, but instead of using batting and backing, I'm using fleece so it will be ULTRA cuddly!
I have about a week to finish it.

sandpat 09-03-2010 07:00 PM

Oh...I saw it on the finished thread and Mel...you did a fantastic job on it! I love how you pulled the greens back out of the center...nice..nice...nice!

So that leaves mine...ok...I'm getting out my hunting hat and heading to California!!

I can't wait to see your finished quilt Mel...sounds like you have a plan!

trisha 09-03-2010 07:55 PM

Gorgeous Flower Basket!! As a matter of fact they are all gorgeous.

OK, JoeAnn came to visit, and we decided on a final round for my quilt. After auditioning several ideas, we decided to follow the KISS principle. So, the final round is the flower fabric. Here it is with JoeAnn.

Thank you all, Esq, Mel, K3n, Patti! I LOVE it!!

annieshane 11-29-2010 08:01 AM

OMG, I am so glad I don't have to choose the most stunning quilt. Looks like a tie to me! All so beautiful.

k3n 11-29-2010 08:04 AM

That's perfect Gai, ties the whole thing together. Now I BET you're planning on FMQing that yourself on the new machine, am I right?

Uh, uh, NOPE!! Actually, I no longer have the 7700. I was so unhappy with the way it sewed, I took it back and exchanged it for the Babylock Symphony. The 7700 didn't sew as well as my sweet old MC4000 (God, I still miss that machine) and it wouldn't go over the center seams in my latest OBW. Since that is the only pattern I've done more than once, that just wasn't acceptable. And it could have been a star point or whatever, but I find it absolutely ridiculous that a machine that expensive couldn't handle a bulky seam. I even got the new re-designed foot. Still wouldn't. So I am much happier with the Symphony.

Bloomin eck! You'd expect AT LEAST that for a machine of that calibre - I'd heard elsewhere that they hadn't improved on the 6600, except the throat space. I have to say that mine, with or without the acufeed foot, handles everything I throw at it. Makes me feel better though as I bought my 6600 only a few weeks before they brought the Horizon out. I thought for a while I'd goofed but I wouldn't swap mine for the world. Although my next goal is a long arm as well!

Yeah, I have always been a Janome fan because of my dear MC4000, and I am STILL really disappointed!! I'm surprised you couldn't hear me holler all the way over there when I found out that the 7700 wouln't go over that center wad   without really pulling and tugging each time. When I did the online research I should have BEFORE buying, (It was an unexpected purchase because of the great unexpected price), I found that lots of people are having the same problem and that there are lots of complaints about the stitch quality of the machine. Oh well, I did get the Babylock, and it is really sweet, even if it doesn't have the Linda Lovelace throat.

But I am planning on doing some of the smaller pieces myself.

And did you see Lacelady's new HQ Sweet 16? It is definitely sweet. You might want to check it out on her PDA.

k3n 11-29-2010 12:26 PM

I think I saw that she'd ordered one. I'm planning on getting a frame that I can put the 6600 on to start with - I'm saving all the craft fair takings and I'm not far off now! Then one day I'll probably upgrade to a long arm, just for the LL throat, like you say! But that's a while off in the current economic climate round here.

Matilda 11-29-2010 01:33 PM

All of them are just very beautiful!!

rosemaynes 11-29-2010 01:39 PM

WOW I love them all.

sandpat 11-29-2010 04:58 PM

Gai....it is perfect! I was surprized to see the fabric. I swear, I'd have never thought it looked like that..and JoeAnne doesn't look like what I pictured either...oh well...goes to show I don't imagine things very well. They are both beautiful..the quilt AND JoeAnne!

K...you still have mine hanging around over there??? Is she enjoying the snow??

Hey Patti - finally got yours done! It was a New Year's resolution to finish it before the end of January! I ummed and aahed and ooed and erred but in the end I went for a single border in this rather beautiful (I think!) Asian fabric which brings out all the orange in the centre and the applique. Hope you like it! And to apologise for the delay, you get a matching tote too! :-D

I think that fabric is lovely and I can't wait to see it in person..I think it will look even prettier! I sure hope to quilt all these IRR UFOs this year. Maybe I should make that MY New Years resolution!

Cuddly Quilter 01-10-2011 06:12 AM

k3n 01-10-2011 06:48 AM
