Glad to hear you're back in your sewing room, Pam. We've missed seeing all your lovely work, lately.

Triple post wouldn't be a subtle way of applying pressure would it.. or maybe a Freudian slip..... I had one of those once... terrible static cling...<grin>

Honestly didnīt realise I posted 3 times OUCH sorry not really piling it on that much.

When that happens I check to see if it posted, sometimes it does before it says that it has, if that makes sense, it is okay, I need a good swift kick anyway, I am just hoping to be quick enough to duck when all y'all start throwing stuff at me.

Glad you have a sense of humour, I thought you were going to throw something my way.

cutebuns 10-09-2009 12:26 PM

Na, just wait though and I am sure that you will be seeing stuff being flung in my direction, I think I might actually go and get some work done, at least I can maybe pick out some fabric.

Just got done with my center and I even got a label done. I need to read through all the threads (unless someone wants to give me a synopsis) of all the things that were talked about to send with it.

I love Elle's center, it's so gorgeous.

What I've done previously in EQ Pam is take a photo of the block/center/whatever and import it in as a picture. The just place it in the center of a layout. That way you have the colours and shades perfect if you want to audition borders. :-)

And my label. I printed it on photo fabric.

Well now, I didn't think of that!! I'll remember that next time and not have to spend so much time creating the block!

Thank you. I shouldn't let myself stay away. Now that I am reading the posts more often and looking at the pictures, I find that I have more enthusiasm for working on projects. I get inspired by all the beautiful work.

Here is my center! Sorry for the bad photo- my digital photo went kaputz, and I only have my cell phone camera handy. I'll try to get a better one, soon!

cutebuns 10-10-2009 03:55 PM

That is gorgeous,

dang, I believe it is coming to me first. I am going to have to go shopping as I know I don't have anything that comes close to going with that.

blueribbontoes 10-10-2009 04:00 PM

I have lots of left over fabric! Would you like me to send it along? It is all blue/natural colored batiks.

blueribbontoes 10-10-2009 04:02 PM

But DO NOT feel obligated to use it!! :) It'll be fun seeing what everyone comes up with.

I embroidered a sea horse on the center.

cutebuns 10-10-2009 04:07 PM

I am tempted, but I think that I will try and see if I can find something, that will give it something that you wouldn't do to it. I will wait until it gets here and take it with me, I am sure that something will jump off the shelves at at least one of the lqs.

Thank you so much!!
I just remembered I have some of that printable fabric iron on 'stuff'!
Would that be alright to print the basic label on to and then have everyone sign on it?!? If yes I may be borrowing ideas from some of you!

pittsburgpam 10-10-2009 04:53 PM

I don't know about iron on since what I have is sew-on. Seems to me it would be OK to use but someone else will probably know for sure.

Butterflyspain 10-10-2009 11:04 PM

Pam your block is superb I love the colours in it.

Andee lovely block even if its not the clearest, the idea is great.

The question about the stick on label fabric. all you need to do is iron it on to some fabric and thats fine. If you post it with the iron on backing on it there is a chance it will get damaged. I am not really sure what kind of fabric you are talking about so its difficult to say.

Pam and BRT - great centres! So different, one so bright and one so understated and pretty - I love the little seahorse. It's so wonderful to see the vast range of tastes and ideas and the level of talent we have on here! We ROCK!!!! :D

Butterflyspain 10-11-2009 06:38 AM

Please read: This was posted by Patti on one of her group threads you may want to do this in case of problems with ink:

Here is what was posted :
"JoeAnn reminded me (she didn't need to!) to put my label in a baggie so that any ink wouldn 't inadvertently rub off on my center. As if I needed the reminder after the September Doll Quilt fiasco! Actually what she suggested was to put a piece of plain muslin on top and iron/press until the ink quit transferring, but I'm going to be extra cautious.

Patti, do you think this is something that should be passed on to the entire 60? "

Havenīt seen Gwyn on here on quite a while. Calling Gwyn, come on in we are looking forward to seeing your block.

Oooo two more beautiful centers!!! :D :D :D
I am soo envious of all of the groups    I can't wait to see the next rounds 8) 8) 8)

blueribbontoes 10-12-2009 01:12 PM

What, if anything, are we including in each mailing? A Postcard? Fat Quarter? A treat?

pittsburgpam 10-12-2009 02:10 PM

I thought about this and EACH mailing. We mail to the same person each time. Someone said a postcard and I'm not sure where I'm going to get a postcard unless it's actually at the post office. If I still worked in San Francisco I could get one just about anywhere.

The idea is to send with your first Border an envelope marked for the person whose Block and inside it is with a postcard or some small light gift. That way each time a border is added to that block a postcar/gift is sent on to the owner of the block. Now does it make sense.

I like that one too! I decided on that for her because she never stops moving and it seemed appropriate!! :D

Remember to PM me when you have posted your block out.
Also PM the recipient of your block so they know its on the way to them.
Many thanks

blueribbontoes 10-14-2009 01:56 PM

I'm finishing up my label right now- nothing quite like waiting until the last minute!! I'll get the whole kit and caboodle out in tomorrow's mail. :)

cutebuns 10-14-2009 02:07 PM

Ummm, since my center isn't done and neither is my label(s) I guess that you are ahead of me, though I have most of something done and a good start on the other, I have to pull it all together now. I wasn't decided on what I was doing, still not, wanted a few more things done so I could choose.
