I made this for a friend, who plans to give it to another friend :-) Every square has a meaning. It will be in the mail tomorrow! So excited to have this done!

Looking at it, I was assuming that the various blocks have some special significance for the recipient. Very well done and that church is spectacular.

jaciqltznok 12-14-2011 02:03 AM

very nice...I am sure the recipient will really love it!

Thanks everyone, I'm so thankful it is finished! It was one of the projects that I could feel hanging over my head. But it's done, it's done!

MaryMo 12-14-2011 07:38 AM

Beautiful quilt! I like the stitching around each object ... perfect choice. Hurray for you!

Tartan 12-14-2011 07:40 AM

Excellent! Wow that was fast, I only looked at the blocks yesterday. Congratulations!

KellyPA 12-14-2011 07:43 AM

Thanks Mary :-)

Hehe, Tartan - I worked on this from the time I made that post yesterday until 3:15 in the morning.... I'm exhausted! But it will be mailed today and for that I'm very thankful! It took me a little longer because I went through all my sewing machine and all were broken! It took 2 different machines to finish this quilt. I also made a trip to the fabric store, only to find out that they didn't have any of the green, so I had to be creative with the border. The border is also acting as binding.

KellyPA 12-15-2011 07:15 PM

Thank you everyone!
Here is what the blocks stand for/mean.....

Blue Crab is a logo for a school that she volunteers in
The school logo with the red, blue, and yellow shapes is also a school that she volunteers in
The vase of flowers are for the birth months of her family, hubby and two daughters are in the vase, and herself and her middle daughter are the holly on the vase
The Buttercup is for cheerfulness
The Superwoman symbol is because she is superwoman
The soccer ball is because she is a soccer coach
The church is for her faith and the work she does for her church
The yellow rose is for friendship
The juggler is because she juggles everything

:-)
