I love your quilt. I like how you did your cathedral windows, too. I have been collecting denim myself, but haven't done anything with it yet.

BETTY62 07-09-2014 07:49 AM

I love it. I have the jeans saved but just haven't got around to making one. This makes me want to get mine going.

It's a beautiful denim quilt, and I like the blocks that make up the border, nice and great to cuddle under. You did a great job.

great idea. My girls have been looking at doing something for one of their uncles. He is very set in silly 'manly' ideas and a quilt would be 'girly' - silly person! But I think he would really be happy with this on his big brown leather bachelor couch! Thanks, I think, for another project on the summer list.

I agree. I am still going to save more jeans and use flannel on the next one so its more "manly" for my boys

Great quilt!!!!! I will have to remember that idea. I have a DGD who is a tomboy. This would be perfect for her!

That's what I thought too. The other fabrics look almost velvet-y (even though they're batiks).

It turned out really well and so pretty, I have thought of doing this too but have to get around to it! Enjoy

yes it is.. I put it on a scale and it weighs 6 lbs :)

RedGarnet222 07-11-2014 08:41 AM

I Love the colors that you used for the insets. Wow, you will be warm this winter. That must be one heavy quilt.

Edited to say great minds think alike... LOL.

tucsonquilter 07-12-2014 06:55 AM

I have made 2 and starting on my third. These are great quilts and they last forever!

meyert 07-12-2014 07:36 AM

tucsonquilter - have you ever used jeans that are really worn? like with holes? My son really wears his jeans out and I didn't use them on this one, but I am planning on making another one. When school starts he is getting new jeans and I will be cutting up these old ones. I don't know how to handle the holes... do you think I could just use them as is holes and all? or should I put interfacing over the holes? or not use the sections with holes at all?
