Okay the original thread really got side tracked when the Hedge issue reared its ugly head so thats why I started this one instead!!

I got up and was out in the shop painting at 6 this morning. The past few days have been really to hot to do anything so thats the reason for the early rise and shine!!

There were soooooo many FW's made and the rarity is not even there unless it is a Tan, Green, or White I think is great to see them different colors. There were just over 6,000,000 Singer 66's made so repainting them is not an issue for me either, unless the decals patterns are rare.

But I use all Automotive paints and Clears and the decals are under the Clear coat so they will not come off.

And I repaint a lot of them, in fact I have 2 more her to repaint another 66 and a 99.

Did you ever do the one in purple?
I think you mentioned it??
that someone was sending you a machine to paint purple?
Can we see pics?
I am leaning towards sending you one of my 66's to paint purple. telling hubby it will be my birthday(12/20) and christms present.
I love purple!

AlleyCat 07-25-2010 10:20 AM

that is an awesome color of blue, Billy you did a spectular job as usual!!!!

pocoellie 07-25-2010 10:33 AM

Absolutely gorgeous!!! Beautiful color!!

Lostn51 07-25-2010 10:57 AM

Believe it or not the blue is a lot darker than the photos let it on to be. In the photos the sun was really bright and the metallic was really showing up. if you tone it down a few shades darker then you have it, and the clear gives it a candy look to it also.

As far as painting for others I will do it no problem the average cost for a repaint is around the $150 to $170 mark. But it can go up more especially if I have to replace or replate the plated parts. But that is a very safe figure to work with.

I have a lot of them to do right now so you will be seeing more posted and I get the business coming in.

It almost got a set of pearl ghost flames on it this morning but I opted for the Gold Leaf Decals that I make.
